Default Burning Oil smell from new engine

My local Subaru dealership replaced the short block in my 03 WRX because the old one had a hairline crack. Since I got it back, I still smell burning oil. Is this normal for a few days for the new engine/oil to settle in?

Thanks. Just what I wanted to hear. I'll give it about a week for the smeel to go away. If it doesn't by then, I'll pass the dealership.

I can almost assure you that if you lift you hood after driving for awhile you'll be able to smell it really well under the hood. Maybe even see some smoke from the oil burning off the block. This is all completly normal. You should give it 2 weeks though. A buddies of mine took a week and a half.
