Smile help in Wisconsin - please!

I ordered a WRX on February 2nd. When I ordered it they told me I'd have it in the middle to end of March. Whenever I call them, they're like "You'll be the first to know when we get it" I called today and they said I'd have it by the second week in April. What's going on? Does anyone else know what I should do? I have a car right know, the guy who I'm selling it to said he would wait but I'm sure he's getting annoyed, understandably - I know I am.
Please help! I want a WRX!

Let me guess, your young, and look it. They let you order on the assumption that if all else fails, they will sell it to you.

But then it came in, there was some middle age guy in buisness atire, and his credit passed without a problem. So they sold it to him, and still have a gueaentee sale out of you. next month.

If they are makeing you wait, walk. Any other dealer can reserve you one out of the 2nd alotment. If they do the hebie jeebies when you tell them your walking tell them you were planning on the car when they said, so they either throw in some serious goodies or get the same car from someone that won't jerk you around.

They should be able to give you a VON (Vehicle Order Number).

It confirms that your car is on the boat, which it should be if it it gonna arrive in April.

Thanks - both of you.
Yep - I'm 23. When are dealers going to learn not to judge by age. I happen to have enough to buy a WRX - not finance. I may be young, but they need to learn "not to judge a book by its cover."
I think you're right, I'm gonna walk. I called another dealer around here and they have two sitting there, I'm going in Thursday. It amazes me how one dealer has two sitting there and another dealer in the same area can't get one they supposedly ordered two months ago.

hey fyxtion...sorry to hear ur story..
was it frank gentile?
I don;t know what you got, but when I ordered from sommer's on the form I signed there's a statement something like: "regardless of the reason, the purchaser is entitled to the full refund of any down payment if the intended vehicle is not there after 15 days of the estimate delivery date" my estimate is 30th april..but the sales person said there's a high chance the second shipment will arrive in mid april..however, I don;t think they take any orders for 2nd shipment anymore..but you can call them to make sure..and good luck to you !

Cool. You will be much happier this way. Besides, the worst part of most dealerships are the service dept, and if the sales dept is as bad as you describe, I would hate to see how the service is!

Good luck on getting your car, and make sure you get some pics of that beast! And make sure they give you your poster and all that stuff.

Good luck.

Just be glad that you didn't get your car from down here in Rockford. The guys at Autowerks are a bunch of jerks. I had my 2.5 on order for like, 4 months before I finally got it. I had the same kind of trouble with them treating me like I wasn't worth them wasting their time on. I test drove one in Minnesota with my dad because it was the only one I could find to drive, then I went to Autowerks to order one, and they treated me like I was some 16 year old kid there to screw around and waste their time. I had to pretty much wave an $8500 check in their faces in order for them to take me seriously. I'm in sales for God's sake, I know how to treat people, just because I'm only 22, that means that I can't afford a $23k car? Car dealers need to wake up and realize that young people (say under the age of 30 or so) are making allot more money these days. I also had a delivery date promised to me, and I arranged for the guy who bought my old car to pick it up on that day. Well, as it turns out, that date was inaccurate by almost a week, so I got on the phone with the manager and demanded that I get a loaner car or that they make some sort of arrangements or else they lost the sale. I just made sure that they knew that I didn't HAVE to buy the car from them, I just bought it from them because it was easiest for me to do so. You have to make sure that the dealer knows that the ball is in your court, that's how to deal with these people, let them know that you aren't afraid to walk. You can buy the car anywhere, make sure that they know that.

Well, if you want to travel to Madison, I know that Don Miller has a couple on the lot.
I drove the wagon, and I think they have two sedans, but I'm not sure.
I bought my 01 from them about a month ago, and they have been the easiest dealship I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I bought a 92 Dakota new from them, and the experience was the same then as now, excellent.
My salesman's name was Kevin Schram, and he was great.
