Post Details on drag day 3/31 @ Union Grove...

Ok, for those interested in going to the dragstrip on Saturday here are the details I would like to propose....

Meet at Woodfield Mall @ 7:30 - 8am in the open parking lot across Hooters. Doors at the track open at 10am. The weather although 3 days away looks to be low 50's with chance of rain later in the afternoon/evening. It is free racing, however, you still have to pay a spectator fee - which is like 11 bucks or so. Go to this link for directions. If interested please post here. I will print some maps to hand out at the meet before hand, but its fairly easy to get there. You can also go to there homepage here for the full race schedule.

Weather Update: 50 with cloudy skies, rain holding off till Sunday

Yeah,

I'm reading this on my mobile laptop on the wireless connection as I'm driving...gotta shift....hold on...a tight turn...670 miles. 330 to go. gotta drive for a couple more hours.

Seriously,
You RS owners gotta also practice those 0-60ft times. There is no reason why any RS owner can't get below the 2 sec range.

Gary, the more posts I read by you, the closer you get to joining Kevin Thomas in my list of "People with wagons who scare me".

thanks..i think

anyhow.. i am wondering what she'll run with DSC on and DSC off to either limit and end wheel spin..or just let me go crazy and melt the tyres to the pavement

oh and nick this tip is for ya..when it comes time to melt your tyres once your turbo'd and if you want a killer burnout, don't bother with water
instead go to pep boys and buy the BIGGEST and cheapest Tyre gloss you can find.. spray some on the tyres everywhere..and a little puddle in front of them...then light them up

Sure..it may be toxic ..i don't know..but i have to get pics of it at work..it works a lot better than water..i still resort to bleach sometimes though..becuase those are really billowy and quick to start smoking too

Hello everyone.... I just got my WRX a week ago and I am new to the subaru gig. Anyway, I have been to Union Grove before and I don't know about this Saturday this early in the season, but typically Sat. is a bad day to go. A better day would be like a Thursday or something, you get unlimited racing and there aren't as many people there. I will have many questions in the coming months and any help to a newbie would be great. Thank you!!!!

Guys,
Looks like the weather just took a turn for the worst....suppose to rain by noon. From the looks of it doesn't look like there will be racing. I will still go to Woodfield if anyone shows up. But it doesn't look like there will be racing today .

ARGH. I forgot all about this. Was distracted this morning by a dirty car. Could not resist urge to do full maintanence on the car.

On the plus side, the engine bay is now clean. The car is now clean & waxed. The blank area where my SIDE SKIRTS used to be is now cleaned and semi-rust proofed. The side/back windows are RainXed. The interior is vacummed and the dash has been treated.
