Default help with JDM version 7 sti swap question .

i have a 2003 wrx and i really love the car . but i kinda wish that i had waited to get an sti cause its a better platform to start from . but i had to get a car right away and the sti didnt come out yet . right now i have a vf34, pink injectors, walbro fuel pump , ECUtek engine management , helix up and down pipe , blitz nurspec catback and hyperflow front mount . the power is great and i'm only at 15 psi and running rich . i have to go to XXtuning soon to get a proper tune . i did alot of overall mods and now i just want a fast street car . and i narrowed it down to getting a v7 sti engine with ACVS . could you guys tell me a place where they have a good price and even better customer service ? and also where to go to get it installed . i was thinking about rich at precision tuning . and also what exactly do i need in all . thanks .

Stephen Clark at Innovative Automotive Performance. He can get you ALL you need.

As far as shops?
I don't know Rich @ Precision Tuning. but there is one known place on the East Coast, he's in your neck of the woods: RalliSpec. Dave is the man when it comes to swaps. And yours is an easy one as far as swaps go.

What do YOU need? Complete motor (includes TMIC, turbo, engine harness) and matching ECU.

Stephen will take care of you.

There is also Kingpin, Four Star (canada) and Fine Line Imports.

But I'm rooting for Stephen and the boys at IAP.

I would also be happy to do the work for you. We have done many Ver 7 swaps and I run my ver 7 spec C swap at AutoX and at the drag strip and on the street. We specialize in Subaru work and have an in house Dynapack AWD chassis dyno. You won't be dispointed with the engine. I'm running mine at 504whp at 31 psi with a custom gt35r turbo kit and I haven't even hooked up the AVCS yet. Do a search in Proven Power Bragging for Agile Auto and you'll find my cars dyno graphs.

How much you charging for labor though? A V7 into a bugeye WRX shouldn't be longer than a couple of hours.

At least two hours to remove, at least two hours to install provided the engine is sitting on a stand and ready to go in. A hour or two for prep of the engine. One hour to fill the engine up with fluids etc. About two hours for the wiring. You're looking at a full days work and I'm good at this stuff too. If you're a rookie I would say plan on starting Friday night and finishing it up on Saturday. If you're going to pay someone to do this expect to get charged at least $1500.

You can easily do the job yourself if you have access to an engine hoist. IM me and we'll talk more in depth.
