If i purchase a 18 or 20g, can i run those turbos without upgradin my injectors and pump for now on low boost. so i can save alittle more and get upgrade everything? I would wait to do everything at once, but the downtime with no turbo at the moment is killin me.

18g probably. Given a very "mild" tune. Give pdxtuning a call. They could probably give you a map to run for the 18g.
150.00

They sent me a map for the vf34 on my legacy(based on a map they had for an sti). Its working out pretty well, however, I am looking to get custom tuned in a couple months.

I know they have a tune for an fp18g on a legacy with and without injector upgrades.

Also, you can run 18g with a better tune and just injector upgrades. No need to do fuel pump and injectors while under 330 whp.

Wow, it's been a long time since anyone posted here. Talk about bringing it back from the dead! Well, now that it's 2014, I figured I'd add my thoughts.

Personally, I like the Steam STX 20G-R. It's a stock location turbo, with a Garrett ball bearing center and turbine with a lightweight billet 20g compressor wheel. It's reliable, it makes really good power (400ish awhp) in comparison to other like turbos and it spools quickly. So, if you want more than stock power, with better than stock reliability, for the price of a traditionaly journal bearing 20g, you can pick one of these up. The guys at SteamSpeed are really helpful too.
