Default Enkei ES-Tarmac Wheels

Rallispec is now the official distributor for Enkei Sport wheels in North America and is extending special introductory pricing through this group buy. Enkei Sport wheels are designed specifically for race and rally competition by Enkei, Japan's leading wheel manufacturer. All Enkei Sport wheels feature:
  • Heat treated cast alloy
  • Robust center hub construction to resist high loads and impacts
  • Knurled tire bead contact surface to resist tire slippage
  • Steel tire valves to resist high temperature
  • White surface finish designed to reveal cracks easily

In addition, 17 inch ES-Tarmac wheels are manufactured using Enkei's special "MAT" technology which forms the outer rim through a spinning process that forces the material to flow into the correct shape. This results in a highly dense grain structure that dramatically improves the mechanical properties of the wheel. The use of MAT allows Enkei to produce lightweight wheels that rival the strength and rigidity of a forged wheel without the high cost and design limitations associated with a forged wheel.

17 x 8.0" ES-Tarmac wheels weigh 15.2 lbs.

This group buy will be for ES-Tarmac wheels only in any 16 or 17 inch sizing. Please go to http://www.rallispec.com/enkei.htm to view the available sizes and their pricing. The pricing will be based on the total quantity of wheels ordered through this group buy offer. Discounts will be as follows:

Qty. of 1 to 20 wheels -- 10% discount

Qty. of 21 to 40 wheels -- 15% discount

Qty. of 41 to 80 wheels -- 20% discount

Qty. of 81 to 120 wheels -- 25% discount

Qty. of 121+ wheels -- 27% discount

For example....lets say we get 4 orders for 4 wheels and 1 order for 5 wheels. This is a total of 21 wheels so the discount off our website pricing will be 15%. If you were purchasing 17 x 8 wheels you would pay $275 x 0.85 = $233.75 per wheel plus shipping.

Shipping costs are on a per wheel basis. The shipping costs will be as follows:

within the 48 states -- $10 per wheel by Fedex Ground

Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Canada -- $20 per wheel by least expensive Fedex service.

All other destinations -- please contact me by email at sales@rallispec.com for shipping quote.

Wheels may be picked up from our location but will be subject to NJ Sales tax of 6%. Wheels shipped to a NJ location will also be subject to this sales tax.

Payment can be made by Paypal (paypal address is rallispec@rallispec.com) or by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover). We will require a non-refundable deposit of $100 per order at the close of the group buy. The balance will be due as soon the wheels are ready to ship. If you prefer to pay 100% up front we won't talk you out of it .

The group buy will close on December 18th.

Delivery time will be approximately Febuary 18th.

Rallispec will not take any responsibility for fitment issues due to incorrect sizing. If there is a general interest in having us test fit a particular wheel/tire combination in advance I am open to this possibility.

In addition to the wheels you may add any of the following accessories at these special prices:

ES-Nut -- lightweight alloy lug nut. For Subaru applications M12 x 1.25 in 35mm length weighs 21 grams each. Price $4.50 per nut ($90 per set of 20)

Center Cap (center caps not standard with these wheels) -- black center cap with Enkei symbol molded into the center. Price $15 each ($60 per set of 4)

Hub Rings -- all Enkei Sport wheels use a 73mm center bore which is larger than the Subaru hub diameter. Hub rings are not required because the lug holes are precisely machined and will handle all the wheel forces. However, the use of hub rings can help to eliminate the possibility of the wheel not being bolted down completely concentric (which can happen if the nuts are not properly tightened prior to dropping the car to the ground). If you wish to purchase hub rings we can supply them for $20 per set of 4.

Thanks!

I'm in for a set of 4 ES Tarmacs: 17x8, 5x100, 45 offset

Oh yeah, and 4 centercaps

It'd be a bonus if you could test fit them with 245's on a mildly lowered WRX with -3 camber in the front, but I doubt I will have problems as the specs are almost identical to RPF1's that people don't seem to have issues with.

And, just for resale value, it would be nice to know if they clear Brembos.

But either way, I'm in

BTW - any reason not to invite the folks from evolutionm.net?

Is there any way you can find out if 17x9 with 255/40/17 tire will fit the rear of 2004 STi?

John,

The 17 x 8 ET45 wheels definitely clear the Brembos. We have run the 17 x 8's on our 2002 WRX rally car in a tarmac setup and there do not seem to be any clearance issues even with less negative camber than you are currently running.

I would definitely be interested in inviting the EVO guys on board. I don't have an account at Evolutionm.net but will see what's involved so we can try to get more people involved.

I know from running the 17 x 8 ET45's on our WRX rally car that the rear clearance is tight. There is perhaps 1/4" room to play with although obviously tire size, tire shoulder profile, suspension setup, and alignment are all going to be factors that could reduce or increase this. Therefore with a 17 x 8.5 ET48 there should in theory still be enought clearance but just barely....all things being equal. With a 17 x 9 ET50 I can pretty much guarrantee you will have to roll the fender unless you can find about an 1/8 inch or more of additional clearance through agressive negative camber. The other question will be whether there is clearance inside to the suspension.

I will see about ordering a 17 x 9 just to confirm this info.

OK. I have been informed by Enkei in Japan that the 17 x 9 ET50 has been recently discontinued. So this pretty much ends the debate about the fitment. Sorry.

All price info is available at http://www.rallispec.com/enkei.htm . The discounts will be based on this pricing. Currently it seems we have 8 wheels ordered so the discount will be 10% off the pricing.

I will try to get weight info on the 16 inch wheels.

I will be out of the office from tonight until Sunday for the PRI show in Orlando. I may not have easy web access so I will respond to any questions on Monday. Thanks!

Hmmm, very tempting. What is the thought on fitment for a 2005 STi in the 17x8.5"? I see that 5x114.3 only comes in ET 40 - the ET48 is for 5x100 only. Will ET40 fit the 05' without fender rolling?

Thanks,

J

I'm not worried at all personally. They are busy but they have a pretty fantastic reputation. Might be worth a quick phone call during business hours.

Sorry for the delayed response. I went to post a reply yesterday only to find our vendor account had lapsed over the time we were away and was deactivated. Should be back up soon. In the mean time I will answer questions using this account temporarily.

Currently it looks like we have the following firm orders (correct me if I am wrong):

buttdyno -- 17 x8 5-100 +45 qty. 4 plus center caps
grintch -- 17 x 8.5 5-100 +48 qty. 4
dblwrxr -- 16 x7 5-100? +45 qty. ? ... firm if price is right
roofis -- 16 x 7.5 5-100 +45 qty. 4

I've also had some interest from several customers on the EVO board and it looks like we may have one or two sets sold through there very soon...just waiting for confirmation. Z1 will help us out and try to formally organize something there.

Not sure if anyone else confirmed via PM but since our account is temporarily closed I can't check it.

With regards to payment....we need payment of the $100 deposit by the 19th. The balance will be due when the wheels arrive from Japan.

Regarding the 17 x 9 wheels....I have confirmed that this wheel is out of stock and there are no plans for any future production. The demand for this sizing was too low.

Also....I saw one post about 15 x 7 gravel. I have a few sets of 15 x 7 gravel wheels in stock and will give a 10% discount if you mention this group buy. However, I have no plans to include the ES-Gravel wheels in the group buy itself. The main objective here is to help us evaluate what the general demand is in terms of sizing so we can decide how best to stock these wheels in the future. The gravel wheels are just two sizes and we already have plans to stock both.

Weights of 16 inch ES-Tarmac wheels:

16 x 7 5-100 +45 = 13.9 lbs
16 x 7.5 5-100 +45 = 14.2 lbs

Thanks!
