Well you can do some serious stuff with $4k. I would go for.
- tires (a must) - suspension = pinks with groupn hats, prodrive springs, tanabe springs - sway bars = cobb tubular sways, cusco, whiteline - TBe = APS, Injen, TXS, Stromung, Cobb - CAI = APS, Injen, Perrin - FMIC = Injen, Perrin, APS, TXS - EM = Ecutek, Cobb AP - short shifter = TIC complete set Hope this helps...let us know. |

The tires that come with the car are pretty good. They are in no way a must for the STI like they are for the WRX. I wouldn't buy another set of RE070s once the stockers wear out, but there is no reason to replace them to start with. The only irk I have with them is weight, but they grip great and are acceptably safe in rain if you drive reasonably. They're not at all acceptable for winter climates, though, so I'd get a whole other set of tires and rims for winter if you are in a cold climate. But keep the stock tires and rims for summer. No reason to spend $600-800 on tires to gain almost nothing.
I'd get a full TBE and EM if you want power, sway bars and springs for suspension. BTW, turboback includes the downpipe, so no need to say "turboback + downpipe." Downpipe + catback = turboback. |

CAI.. From what I here the Blitz SUS is unbelievable. EM I have the cobb AP stage 2 software on my 06 WRX and it is wonders. I would say get the Cobb AP first and run stage 1 tuning for a bit and let your ECU warm up to the idea that you will be nailing it to the floor soon. Then get your Turbo back and run stage 2 tuning. Finally I would grab a (Blitz,Perrin,TXS) FMIC if you want some mass air. Thats the route im going at least. Theres my 2cents.

Your first mod should be a TurboXS knocklite, then boost and egt gauges, then if you are going to tweak your car yourself, wb02.
