Have a Nice Day? Yes, Michelangelo was a fine, fine sculptor, and brilliant mind...

... but Bernini was also quite good, and very underrated and underappreciated by the masses.

Discuss.

Indeed I have not.

Was she as hot as Persephone in Benini's sculture?

Wasn't that the chick in the Lesbo scene in Caligula?

IMHO Bernini was more adept at capturing the emotion of his subjects within his sculptures. I find his works to be much more engaging.

Agreed. Bernini has a more feminine quality though, in my eyes. He makes things flow and bend like supple leather under your gaze.

My fave will always be Rodin, though. He is aggressive and you can feel his power oozing from his sculptures. Its like he used hands thick with sex and passion to create his art.

In the picture ithoughti posted, there are two disks on the ground on opposite sides of the obilysk...obylisk... obi... the thing in the middle. If you stand on that spot (and only that spot) and look out toward the pillars, there is an optical illusion that instead of four pillars (one behind the other), it looks like there is only one. What makes it more amazing, is that the pillars farther back are wider than the front ones, meaning both sides of the pillars line up exactly.
