...but the would-be thieves had trouble getting past the impenetrable fortress that is The Impreza. Me and my GF were going to the mall and I got in the car and unlocked the passenger side. She didn't get in right away and finally opened the door and said "I think somebody tried to break into your car." There were pieces of door handle and the lock mechanism laying on the ground. Somebody gouged the hell out of my door and tore the handle to shreds. But they didn't get in, that's the important part. The only thing of value in the car is my Pioneer stereo, which was the second cheapest one at Best Buy. Maybe they wanted my stylish Subaru floor mats or my ultra neat sun visor. Kinda pissed me off, but nothing was stolen and there's nothing I can do about it now, so whatever. I called the police and 5 hours later (seriously 5 hours), they showed up and filed a report and stuff. The cop was cool and everything, he got held up because he was busy dealing with a stabbing, which is definitely more important than my door handle.
So...anybody know how much it might cost to get my door fixed? Anybody want to guard my car for $5 a night? People piss me off. |

Two "Undocumented workers" tried to steal my car the other day as well.
I went to the brew shop in Centrevile to buy some barley and yeast this afternoon. We decided to eat at the deli next door first and as we were eating I saw these two fools looking real hard at my car. They eventually walked on up the hill and I was relaxing a bit. Then they split up and one headed to the corner to look out as the other one headed over to my car. I immediatly went out the resterraunt door and the lookout saw me making a line right for my car. As I got nearer the fellow was right near my door and he slipped something in his pocket and headed away fast. The two of them hooked up and departed quick in a red 4X4 that was an older trooper I think. I drove the car around right in front of the deli in case they circled around. I finished my lunch fuming mad and ready to kill and then headed over to the brewshop and guess what? Out of business! I was in there 5 days prior and the owner seemed a calm happy man putting out new stock and not like a guy about to loose his business. He had just recieved a HUGE shipment of new grains and malts. |

ohhh, what I would have given to have caught either of the fu•kers that broke into my mazda in the act. Oh, and to have had a louisville slugger in hand.
There is nothing I hate in the world more than theives.Seriously, I think the only thing right about the middle east is how they punish theives. |

A few years ago there were some morons out egging on halloween in my neighborhood. I caught them when my satellite lost signal and I looked out back to investigate. I got the drop on them and walked them around front and made sure the car was OK before I released them. I don't think that I would have shot them had the car been egged due to the legal hassles involved but I certainly would have done great harm to them.

That sounds more like a joy-rider looking to mess around with your car... A real theif wouldnt have spent time messing with the lock and would have just gone right through the window sealing on the frameless window
![]() Thats why I use my club when I leave my car anywhere I cant see it... its worked perfectly so far *knock on wood* |

well what i usually do is remote mount my Stoner rifle from Vietnam underneath the car. True, it's old but a bullet is a bullet.
Then I put in motion sensors around the car. When the bad guys jiggle it the sensors trip and the gun rotates underneath and opens up a volley and mows their ankles off. Then they fall to the ground moaning in pain and I have a flechette canister as well that fires a wad at them. It's messy but works. but yes, i hate thieves too ![]() |

and sorry to hear of your car's loss.
Someone broke my glass this past weekend, which is the window right next to the hatch, on the wagon. The glass held it's form, but was internally shattered into a million pieces. Of course, I have NO idea why someone would try and break that part of the glass, unless it was just for kicks, given that the car is SO new...I have only had mine for a month and a few days, which makes it worse. I felt like tearing up some heads...and goodness knows that if I had caught the ba$tard$ that did it, they would have felt what it feels like to break some glass, with their FACE! THIEVES & Vandals...a dime a dozen. What satisfaction they get, I will NEVER know, but jealousy is one thing, and property another. MARTHA FOKKERS! Again, dude, sorry to hear of your loss, and I would say call the ins. company, and see if the dealer can replace the door handle under insurance. Later, phat. |

Makes me glad I live in MN where car theft isn't very popular. No, we get violent crimes instead
As I leave my car stock-looking the only thing that may draw attention to someone who knows cars is the massive STi brakes. I always wondered how tough it would be to take those off in a hurry I'm also glad I don't have theft candy (i.e. stereo equipment) in my car. Besides, the noise from the car would drown out any stereo enough not to make it worth spending any money on. And I have the best anti-theft system in the world!! An engine that dies at random when not in limp mode!! Hahaha, I'd love to see a thief try to drive off with it not knowing what he got into! It would either die shortly after he left with it or he'd hit the boost in limp mode and blow a piston oh man, that would be great. A dumbfounded thief and an insurance check for a new engine ~G |

glad to hear that the door handle and the lock was the only thing that was damaged.
its cool of you to be so reasonable about the whole 5 hour wait. IMHO i dont think it was car jackers, maybe just some bored punk teens. i dont know much about car thiefs, but wouldnt they have gone in through the driver side? but oh well, glad you aren't too bitter about it. |
