Default questions on an rs

i am looking into getting a used 2004 RS and I have a few questions.

I am a snowboarder and I was wondering how i was gonna get my snowboard on or in the car.. does the seat fold down? is there a bag i can put it into that goes through the trunk? do i use a snowboard rack?

Can 17' rims and tires fit on the car?

is this a good choice for a second car? I was origionally looking at a REX, but i have come to the realization that a rex would burn a hole in the wallet really fast. (on gas and insurance prices)

BTW: I am 17

This sounds like the sedan and not the wagon. No? AFAIK the seats do not fold down in the sedan. You would be better off using a Yakima or Thule rack. Figure about $400.00 - $450 for rack and snow board attachment.

As or the wheels, yes. http://www.tirerack.com will tell you all you need regarding wheels and tires.

my first car/current car is my 03 impreza RS. The seats dont fold down but there is a center peice that can fold down. As for puting your snowbored there i dont think thats very advisable. I dont know how it is on the 04 but im pretty sure its the same. A rack on top would do the trick.

good news and bad news.

good news is that the center armrest in the back does fold down to provide access to the trunk, but there is no 60/40 split like in the wagons. i got a pretty big board (164) and i'm able to fit it through this opening with little problems.

bad news is that i doubt you can fit more than that in there. the way you have to angle the board kinda makes it hard to fit a second one. you may be able to fit two boards with some patience, but three is definately pushing it.

kinda sucks how these car's don't have a 60/40 split when considering how pinch everything is in the back as it is.

You can easily get 2 boards through the pass-thru... wide or narrow. If you don't mind a wagon though.. they're the way to go. They handle better, only weigh a little more, and (obviously) carry lots more stuff.
