Saturday: Rally or autocross???

Decisions, decisions... Anybody want to haul down to the rally on Saturday morning to check out the action? I'd go on Friday night, but sleeping in a car with 3 of you guys ... well, frankly doesn't have that "special" appeal to me...

Alternatively, there's the autocross on Saturday...

Autocross -- happens every few weeks
Rally -- happens once a year

Autocross -- done by afternoon
Rally -- could be stuck in Washington all day

Autocross -- Ashton, Penphoe, et al already committed
Rally -- who's going?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

2 reasons why:
a) Because I get to drive my own car
b) Because I found out too late for this rally and I've already got something booked!!!

youthanasia and I will try to show up and spectate for a little bit at the auto-x but we can't stay long because we've got some stuff already lined up for the rest of the day.

There's an autox opportunity at Boundary Bay every weekend this month

There's the Wild West rally tomorrow and Saturday and then ther's the Pacific Forest Rally next weekend. As I'm driving on the rally I'm going. Now I just have to decide if I'll have the energy to get back next Sunday for the VCMC autox. Luckily I booked to have the Monday off. Following Darren's example of being prepared.

You guys are forgetting the IOCO hillclimb is also this weekend... I'll probably end up watching that, since my car isn't broken in yet, and I don't feel like going to Washington.

Peter, are you competing in ClubRally or ProRally? Or do they have an arrive-and-drive RallySprint event at this one or the Pac Forest Rally? Maybe next weekend would be better ... the Pacific Forest one is up at Cache Creek, no?

Pacific Forest Rally is next weekend and I'm driving the first of the course opening cars. Gives me a chance to see the route before next year when I'll be running the 2nd of the course opening cars.

It's a club rally, 1 day. Small turnout, but fun. A rep from the Canadian rally championship will be there to monitor how it's run. They were pleased with last year and this should be the final check. Expect to see this event on the ProRally Canadian calendar next year

Next year you can come out to see all those guys in 400+bhp Subarus that you watch on the TV. Up close an personal there's nothing like it. The spectator areas are good on this rally too.

I would definitely pick the Rally! We can make it a small meet/trip or something.

Necro puts up some good points, happens once a year, etc.... But looks like I'm out-voted currently, 6 to 1.
