Does anyone know where I can find a carbon fiber dash trim kit for a MY00 Legacy GT?

Careful if you get the stick on carbon fiber and currently have factory fake wood dash. The stick on pieces won't completely cover the wood. At least they didn't on my 98 GT. You will have to paint the edges of the wood to cover it or get actual carbon fiber replacement pieces. Another bad spot is the power window switches on the driver's door. I am not sure how they are on the new Legacys but on mine there are little strips of wood between the switches and the carbon fiber stick on stuff just went around the switches.

On the newer Legacy's like mine, don't have wood on the door switches. It seems like the ones from Alka Plus would be fine except it seems that some require two pieces. I don't want to replace all of them, just the wood portions and maybe the switch areas.

Some I looked at before offered 2 packages. A complete+ pakcage and one that just covered a few spots. Yeah, I hate the wood on my Legacy. Wood does not look good on a sports sedan, especailly plastic wood. Now if it were a top of the line Benze or Jag I wouldn't mind the wood.
The door switches were just an example. I had the problem with the stick on stuff not covering all the way to the edges on all the pieces. The stick on stuff only covers the very front, the pieces are not curved at the edges so it does not cover the wood completely. Another example is around the stereo... the wood is not completely flat there on my 98, but the stick on pieces are, at least the ones I got were. Just make sure they are returnable if needed. |
