Default My Brullen turbo back problems...

My Brullen turbo back arrived in bubble rap damaged. I have a 5" scratch on the black muffler showing the stainless steel below it. The middle sections black paint is chiped showing the stainless steel below and is dented about the size of a quarter in one section. It almost looks like a door ding on the pipe. I was very suprised Brullen doesn't box there exhuast. If my exhuast had been boxed no damage would of been made. Also the insides of the pipes are not smooth. On the muffler section and middle section they are painted black and the black paint somehow got on the inside of the pipe making for an unsmooth finish. I am currently working with GTBGuy trying to get this resolved but I am VERY frustrated at this point after a day of back and forth email with him and STILL no answer. I paid a lot of money for this and I expected perfection. I'm left wanting more. Should I return it and get another better quality turbo back that ships in boxes and has cleaner pipes? Your thoughts please?

Default Too Bad

Thats really a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing a flawless Brullen system for the great exhaust shootout. I guess it will still work - how much of it is where you will be able to see it after it is installed?

I have to give Scott Taylor (owner/operator of Stromung) 2 thumbs up for his packaging. I have never seen anyone so psychotic about getting product to me in serviceable condition. I mean, he uses boxes, foam, bubblewrap and rolls of tape. I have received 3 shipments from him now and each one was so well packed that it took me 20+ minutes to unpack. The only way it was getting damaged is if the truck actually ran over it.

Anyway, hope you still want to install it this weekend. Let us know otherwise.

We are on the edge of closing a big Scoobysport GB. (Pipes should ship in the next day or so.) I will post a full write up as soon as we get our hands on them.

WRXThis - I'm glad this is out in the open, as there is nothing to hide or no reason to. As I mentioned before in our conversations, this is not an issue of manufacturing quality or product quality.

We have yet to have ANY problems except yours with our packaging for shipment. Otherwise, wouldn't you think the insurance guys on FedEx's side would be concerned? This is also the reason why we purchase insurance on EVERY shipped package.

"A Picture is worth a thousand words", I'm not questioning your integrity by any means, but "damages" you explained are on no solid grounds a claim that will be accepted by FedEx. These are in analogy to a rock chip while your driving. The "damages" will not affect the performance or function/operation of the part. As well, none of the "damage" will be even visible when installed.
You might want to note that unless you have undercarriage protection like the 360 Mondena, that no matter what car it is, there will be small rocks etc, that will be hitting the bottom of your car, whether it be the bottom of your side skirts or floor pan.

As I mentioned before, if you think this is a feasible claim, I will take it up with FedEx. Like yourself, I want to get this resolved in a civil manner. Just as an FYI, FedEx claims' deadline is 15days after recieving the package. That gives us till Sept 20th, the latest to claim. As for processing time, that's not up to us, but FedEx.

If you want a refund, that's not a problem, but as it stands already, this was a special arrangement, and I can only refund the amount less shipping. I'm sure however, for the amount of money you paid, alot of people will want to get it from you. This would probably be the best method, if you choose to pursue that route.

What is this exhaust shoot out in Colorado I keep reading here & there about?

WRXThis:
the shipping damage based on your description doesn't seem too bad. But it seems like you are also not too happy with the workmanship of the exhaust either...

Default Shootout

We are going to be taking at least 4 WRX's to the dyno early next month, each fitted with a different turbo back exhaust system to see which ones make the most and least power.

In defense of WRXThis, I know how anal retentive he is about his car, and I dont blame him. I get psycho over things being perfect for mine as well, especially given the cost.

JaMa:
Which exhausts? Include MRT? Also, were these same WRX's dyno'ed earlier?

Everything is all better now, thanks Jack. Brullen is going on tomorrow. I will let everyone know my thoughts when installed.

I'm glad that all issues are resolved now. It's time to kick back, get a bag of popcorn (or your fav. munchies) and watch the great show to come

In anycase, manufacturing quality wasn't the issue here, just shipping.
