I'm thinking of getting my side view mirrors and door ding strips painted to match my car. Problem is, they changed the design of the strips in 97 (or so, approximately when they redid the front end and dash), so at least some of them wouldn't fit if I tried to put the new ones on my 95. Thus, my question in the subject line. Anybody know for sure?

As far as I know the old school imprezas all had black strips and black mirrors. The side strips on 96 and lower models extended onto the front fender. 97's had them on the doors only

Something I've always wanted to do... The higher end Imprezas from 93-96 had painted side view mirrors and door handles, but never the stinkin side strips. I've been looking into getting the mirrors and door handles, but I just can't find a wrecked Aegean Blue, damnit! Anyways, the only way I think to do it would be to paint them...

I traded my 1995 Impreza LX 2.2L for my WRX. (Stepping up in the Subaru world!) Anyway, my 95 had painted side mirrors AND black side strips. (They were not painted.) They were standard on the LX. The LX was the highest-end model for that year. The strips were placed very well - they saved my doors from dings a number of times. I'm a little worried about my WRX not having them. I might purchase some for it and have them painted.
