Hello,
Ok i am thinking of making a intake for My 01 RS. I understand that I need to have a 3" pipe. Have a friend that happens to work with Carbon Fiber. WOOO HOOO Do i need any sensor type stuff, or can I just throw a K&N on the end in the fender and run it right to the engine. Thanks for the help I will send pics when we get em and if the cost is ok maybe we can get him to make some more. Cherrio ![]() |

Nothing needed, just a tube & a filter and you're ready to go. Here's a pic of my Ganzflow.Mike |

You're replacing the entire stock intake (including the box with the filter in it)? Or just the piping? If you're just doing the piping, then you have nothing to worry about. If you're doing the whole thing, you have to have places to hook up all the hoses that were/are hooked up to the stock intake box. Look at the Cobb Intake for ideas. I saw a picture in one of these threads that showed the entire intake hooked up with the hoses hooked to it too. If you can find a picture of that intake, it should answer a lot of your questions.

My plan is to go all the way from a element filter, straight to engine.
Totally eliminate all the plastic stuff. So there are no secret electronic gizmo's or such that will cause a major disaster? |

As far as I can tell, there's nothing there. As I said in the other post, make sure you get a place to hook up those hoses to the tube somewhere.
here's the pic of the cobb intake. http://www.cobbtuning.com/images/ct-cai2.jpg ![]() |
