Hey guys,
Its been cold in Indiana for the last couple of days. MY fuel guage needle is not reading right. Yesterday, I was driving on the highway and when the needle marked at half I was getting 200 miles already, and normally I be lucky if I get 280 on a full tank of gas. So I went to fill up at the gas station to see how much the car would take. At half mark the car is suppose to take no more than 8. So I filled up and the car took in 14.6 gallons. So obviously the needle is wrong. The today when I start up the car after driving for 70 miles again, the needle doesn't move much. However, if you turn off the car and re start it the needle moves down. Do you all think it is a sensor problem? The cold froze something in the fuel system? Any advice. thanks

Still under warranty, so your best bet is the dealer.

It could very well be one of the 2 fuel level sensors in the tank. Go to dealer for warranty fix, do not pass Go.

As others have commented, don't waste your time trying to figure out the problem when you still have warranty. It's a new car, it shouldn't have problems. Let Subaru take care of it.

Yes, dealer will most likely give you a reflash. Subaru has released a new map for the BIU for the fuel gauge concerns.
