Default Tokyo in October!

Well, it's been in the works for a number of months, but i've got the tickets and everything now.

I'm coming, or going, to Tokyo!

Early October for two weeks, being a total tourist and getting out of the States for the first time.

My Uncle has arranged the ultimate car enthusiast dream, however, and i'm going to be touring....

Subaru's Manufacturing Plant!!!!!!

He talked them into letting myself, my Aunt and probably my mother into getting in without having 10 people. It should be quite and experience. Thankfully my Aunt has lived in Tokyo for over 20 years and can at least translate some of what she understands about cars. Chances are there'll be a tour guide who can probably give and take a bit of English as well.

I'm not sure what i'll see, or perhaps even drive, but this is going to make the trip even funner!

Oh, and for those familiar with Tokyo, any advice on auto and non-automotive out-of-the-way tourist sites in the Tokyo area would be greatly appreciated!

Dave

auto wave and super auto bacs are two of the big auto department stores. the wheel rooms are amazing..

then there's that highway where you pay 700 yen and pretty much do laps. the rest stops look like my garage in gran tourismo. i forget what it's called - perhaps someone else can fill in the details..

As much as i'd love to buy and send back stuff for everyone, i can't. It's too bad there isn't a guy like me that can just go over there, buy the stuff, arrange for the shipment to the US and then distribute it easily.

I'm sure it happens all the time, but there's no one doing it very well, or as directly, as we'd like them to.

I don't know if i'll even come back with anything, though i wouldn't be suprised if i get a few nice things from Subaru's PR department. I'd love to get a body kit while i'm there, but i'm going on a budget anyway, so it's not going to happen unless the Yen drops HARD.

Dont worry about fitting both under the hood, I am sure if you are determined enough they will be a way.

Default Paddle shifter

Can you bring me one of those paddle shifters they have on the B4? I think they cost around 6K, too bad that's not in Yen, it would be like $1.5
