Default Chervon Fuel System Cleaner on 03 RS,ok?

I just have a small bottle of it from pepboys.

Do you guys dump all in it when you fill up the tank?

Can i dump half of it to test if they are harmful to my car?

I have about 20mpg right now on my RS, it's somewhat like a WRX......
My gas refill light on unsually when i had driven about 250 miles.
Who get a worse fuel economy like me?

I use Chervon 91 starting from the first day until now(42000 miles)
I have my car engine oil change Mobil 1 10W-30/300 miles
OEM Air filter changed every 7000 miles.

Dude, that's crappy mileage, what mods? I have CAI, header, and catback and I get 26 (semi-hard driving) to 29mpg in mixed driving. I dump a bottle of Chevron in every 3k miles on 3/4 tank of gas.

^^^ aren't you suppose to add it when you're running on empty? I would assume the strength of the Chevron would be somewhat diluted with such a full tank of gas.

Default Fuel System Cleaner

You're supposed to add a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner to a near empty tank, and then fill up with gas while at the pump.

Costco has 4 bottles of the Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner for $10. These usually run between $4-$6 a piece.

If you have been using Chevron 91 since the first day, your fuel system should be relatively clean and the Chveron cleaner probably won't do a lot. But of course it won't hurt anything.

Just a recommendation, just use 87 if the manual says 87 (I assume the 2.5RS recommends 87). 91 won't help in anything unless you have advanced timing a lot through tuning.

I think i have this poor gas mileage because:
1. i have 225/45/R17
2. too many stop and go + lots of up hills in the local.....

okay don't feel bad, for those of you gettting 29mpg you drive like grandpa

my RS NEVER got about 25mpg once it hit 30k. I averaged 24 highway(no matter how fast or slow i drove) and i averaged 17-19 city.

now with the WRX swap i was seeing 17-19 city before winter blend...now it's more like 14-17 city winter blend and 20-21 highway. we'll see what the summer brings. the truth is these cars are gas hogs...sometimes makes me wish i bought a civic. My brother's '02 Civic gets 30 city(and that's driving hard) and 37-38 highway.

Heeey, i represent that statement...

The 29mpg part, not the grandpa part.

During road rallies though it easily drops closer to 20mpg though...
