Default quick question on '95 impreza ej18 5mt diagnostics

obd 1 or 2? getting conflicting information on that one.

if 1, how to engage the cel diagnostic mode?

searched, found:

and
http://www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/

i'm not working on the car myself, so i don't have physical access to it. any help appreciated.

OBD1 with an OBD2 connector IIRC. My girlfriend has a '95 Impreza so I can try OBD2 with it tomorrow and get you a definitive answer. Dunno about the diagnostic mode.
