Question This happened to someone?!

Well, one of my friend told me that about a week ago, he had parked at Richmond Centre at about the corner of The Bay( corner of Westminister and Minoru). He then saw flashing blue and red lights, so he went to check it out.

A yellow Integra Type-R had a police car in front of it diagonally, so that the cop had previously cut him off, and then a police mototcyle was behind it.

He saw the cop giving the driver's driver license back to the driver with 2 sheets of paper.

At first he thought they were free to go, but they were waiting for something.

Later, a tow truck came, and one of the cops took off the license plates of the car, and the car went on the tow truck...

I really don't understand this scenario. If a license get removed from a car, normally it means that the car was stolen... so I really don't get this... any comments?

Sunny

Maybe the guy was driving with a suspended license? Street racing? DUI? Stolen car? Lots of reasons.

most likely got his 4th vehicle inspection, another "box 1" and subsequent impoundment of the license plates to prohibit u from driving it.

next step would be towing to an inspection center (or somewhere else to get it to legal for inspection), and to an autoplan agent that will let reinsure the car with new plates.

ps: my itr is white, so it wasn't me! but i feel for a brother... these days in richmond having a "type-r" logo on your car is a translation for "pull me over i'm a criminal" to the police

What not fair ...

They're stereotyping Type-R owners then ..?

There are punks out there who are dangers to themselves and other drivers, but there are also law-abiding drivers who happen to be car enthusiasts & enjoy driving well-perfoming cars.

Too bad they have to ruin it for everyone ...

Welcome to Vancouver!

After a while you learn to deal with it by keeping yourself VERY low profile. Heh.

don't think that subarus are invisible, especially after what happened at boom 2001 with that wrx that got towed.

that is, unless yours is a dark blue rs coupe with funny little blue and red christmas lights in the back window....

Oh believe me Imprezas aren't invisible. But what I meant by keeping a low profile is staying out of "trouble" zones...driving at the legal limits, always "by the book", and just steering clear of trouble.

Heh. The funny thing is, sometimes people think my car is the cop car.

I just found out today that one of my friends wants to get one of those Neon light set for under your car just like in Fast and Furious...

I told him, you'll attract the cops like bee and honey...

yeah....cops have been giving ppl hard time these days....no matter u have a ITR or u have a Civic DX....as long as they "think" u have done some mod and is not safe on the road they will either give u inspection notice or Box 1 => tow right the way....

i have at least knew 4 to 5 guys being involved to that for the last....3 weeks?

so i would say....GOOD LUCK to everyone of us....
