Minimum RPM in 6th?

Just got my 05 STi two weeks ago! Had 9900 miles and I'm lovin it.

All of my driving is city and I hardly ever shift to 6th because I think <2000 RPMs may be lugging it. So I spend a lot of time in 5th, but my mileage . . . ahem! could be better. What do you think?

i don't go into 6th under 55mph.

I try to keep it at least above 2250 when I'm just puttin' along on my way home along the sleepy backroads at night.

That's what I thought! Good to know 6th gear will be like new for years to come.

I shift into 6th at 35 mph or so. I say 6th is the gear that I used the most.

I don't know at what speed but i try not to drive below 2k RPM

If the road is flat and I dont have to push the gas hard to stay at speed I will ride in 6th at 40 and above. The motor doesnt really seem to lug, but I also dont have any big mods like a DP or exhaust. On my old Acura the absence of the converter and having a catback made me loose a little in the low sub 3K RPM range.
