Yeah, that's about right.

Default

14mm deep socket, or a 14mm ratcheting box end wrench. You could try with a regular 14mm wrench, but you'd be at it for a while.

Subaru recommends you replace the 3 lock nuts at each strut tower every time you undo them. Something to consider, but definitely not a show-stopper if you haven't ordered new nuts.

The torque on those things is a LOT less than you might think. 27ft*lbs or something. You wouldn't think that'd be enough to hold the strut to the car, but it is. Most people over-torque them and ruin the bolt thread, nut, or strut tower.

It shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes to install, as long as you don't have a funky intake in the way or something. I can help you tomorrow if you'd like.

P.S., you r!cer.

R!cer! Like your car needs a front strut tower brace, with the firewall so close to the strut towers.

(actually I'm just jealous, being that I only have the rear brace in the wagster)

Do you have a "deep" socket set? The studs stick out too far for an ordinary socket. If T-REX would return my O-Wrench, you could use that.
