Well you can read about it here. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Foru...ML/002192.html
I'm surprised I didn't see Rob along with the S4 guys there. I thought he'd surely be there since he's always up on 1/4 mile times. ![]() Good turnout of S4 club, Audi TT club, Broke Brother's F body club, Ford Contour club among others.

David,
Surely you know better than that - I went to Byron and the conditions were perfect and I was able to run my car 14 times in 2 hours - what, did you think I was standing around a dyno trying to divine reality ![]() FOr everyone that reads this, note this very important fact which I have proved tomyself over and over again - YOU ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING INVALUABLE AT THE TRACK!!! I did today, but it is not Subaru related. BTW, the best time of the day for my car with just an exhaust (stock chip) was 13.98 with master driver Kyle at the wheel. I was only able to manage 14.101 because I have some regard for my car's mechanical well being ![]() |

Rob,
You or Kyle needs to give the rest of the S4 guys a lesson in driving. Those guys were screwing up left and right. One guy could only get mid 14's with chip, exhaust, intake. "you let Kyle drive?" I hate to ask him about any details. It might make me cringe. ![]() BTW, it was funny to see a bunch of tall basketball looking guys stepping out of their Audi TT's . What a sight, and reviews said the lower roof line wasn't suited for tall drivers. hehe. ![]() Rob, I thought you had a stage II package or something like that. No chip??? BTW, Where is Byron??? You guys will have to invite me next time. [This message has been edited by Aspen (edited April 01, 2001).] |

Byron is in Byron, IL. It's something like 60 miles west on 72 from Schaumburg. Straight shot. It's a long, boring drive, so make sure when you do it in the morning to have some caffiene in ya.

I'm sorry, I didn't catch what car you have. Do you have a WRX or an RS? 13.98 is a good run. If you guys ever want to go to Union grove dragstrip, I would love to accompany you.

I think he has an Audi...not sure if S4 or A4, but I'm gonna assume S4.

No doubt, the S4 is a nice car, but seeing some of the 1/4 mile times posted, I think the WRX is faster.

Well...I don't know enough to expertly comment on that. I'll leave that for Rao to talk about.
However, from what I hear about people chipping those S4's...that seems to put them in a whole new ballpark. Neil |

Its an S4 and it was running stock except for an exhaust. If anyone thinks a stock WRX can run better than 13.98 - bring your money to the track and we'll see
![]() Anyhow, Kyle was driving because I needed to test somethjing so I needed another person to drive to make it objective. He really is quite good. Unfortunately, Nick was busy breaking his tranny so he couldn't drive ![]() I know the S4 group was up at Union Grove, we are all going to Byron on an outing in a few weeks. I don't know what their problem was. There is at least one other guy who has run his S4 even faster in stock form, FWIW. Bryon is a great drive for me, the same distance as Union Grove, but all high speed interstate and usually less crowded, though not always. Besides it is the PLAYGROUND OF POWER!I cannot stress enough times how important it is to run your car at the track. [This message has been edited by rao (edited April 01, 2001).] |
