Default MadDad(TM) Clarity STi Look and WRX look LED Gauges

Updated V2 Rx Series is now available(6/1/2006) at a discount 3 gauge bundle. Ground up new design features whisper quiet stepper motor driven needle movement, pre-set warning lamps, upgraded sending units, factory matched face design, and electronic boost. Look to later pages in thread for more pics.

==========================================
Origonal V1 series
MadDad(TM) Clarity 52mm Gauges are now being offered in three different LED lighting setups. In addition to the origonal super high contrast SuperWhite's we are also offering them in an Amber/Red STi setup with the same matte silver bezel to complete the STi look, and we just finished a prototype for a Green LED version. Currently being sold in combo sets of 3 gauges: EGT and your choice of Boost, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, or Water Temp. All 3 gauges for the unheard of price of $299. Add an ATi Clock Pod for $119.95. Add an Oil Pressure sandwich adapter for $39.95. A single new part # on our website lets you order an any combo color and options that you like. Two week money back gaurantee even if you install them(we encourage you to). We're that confident your going to like how they perform and look. We introduced this gauge line because we were sick of the poor quality we were getting when trying to offer a similiar value via some of the popular brand names. Our garage is has a stack of returned gauges from those brands and that is what made us pursue our own. We're happy we did and so will you:

These gauges perform as good as they look. All are Electronic except for boost. They all do a 100% Defi-style black-out when off and use a patent pending 12 LED array for their On operation.

SuperWhite currently in stock, Amber/Red's are coming back in stock last week of December, and Green LEDs are brand new and will be due in January. This is the instock forum so I will point out the SuperWhite's are the only onces in stock at the moment of this post. We have mentioned all in this thread simply because this will be the ongoing thread in reference to these gauges. Customer are NEVER charged until we ship the product to them. We do not charge for b/o'd items:

So what do the look like:
(thanks to Nate for the STi installed photos)
STi Look when On (we use the matte silver bezel rather than black like some, to keep with the STi cluster look) - ATi Pod Highly Recommend

STi Look When Off

Green WRX Look, SuperWhite(think Legacgy GT), and Amber/Red all on display

A Close up of extended 2200 Degree EGT

Dr. Fob - They don't do the sweep. That is usually reserved for CPU controlled units or I have seen a couple of gauges that do it strictly for show(with no self test or anything going on). Think of the Clarity series gauges as being a more upscale alternative to other lower cost options such as AutoMeter Sport-Comps or VDO's, that was actually the goal for these gauges: to be a resonable cost option that looks and performs good with few frills(though they do-do the black out). We have a new line of gauges from Koso we are introducing at the end of the month(currently available in Europe and Japan). We are the first US based importer for Koso. We're just waiting for our opening order to arrive from them. We found Koso about 8 months ago when we started our search for someone to build our Clarity gauges. In the end Koso doesn't built our Clarity gauges, but we did pick up their line as a consolation prize. The Koso gauges are 100% CPU controlled, including boost. They do the sweep on startup. In their case the sweep is a self test routine and self calibration. They also have full adjustable warning and peek hold functions(all gauges). We will have a very full line up these, including: Boost, EGT, Oil Temp, Oil Press., Water Temp, A/F, and Fuel Pressure available. Each gauge has it's own separate small CPU module, but they can be piggy backed for consolidated power. Here is a pick of a Koso if that's something your interested in. The face is black(with very well done carbon fiber look. It's not hokey) with white lettering and white backlighting. The needle is also white which gives a very cool different look. No control module neccessary with these since each gauge basically comes with it's own module. The Koso's are all priced between $169-189 per gauge. Smome small discounts off of that will be offered for the first few weeks when the arrive. Still an awesome value considering these are some very high end gauges. Also, we special ordered all of our Koso gauges in imperial units for easy reading. Another reason why we've been waiting so long for them. Other markets uses metric units.
Koso EGT - full electronic, CPU controlled, adjustable warn and peak memory

cobbler - The $299 price will definately be around through the end of January. If you use the link in the first post to order a full set, you won't be charged until we acutally ship them so order when you feel your ready, just do it by the end of January...sooner if you want to make sure you get the next available set. The last two orders the we received were all presold before they arrived.

N8WRX - We have Autometer a-pillar triples listed on the website. It's what's holding the green gauge in the night photo that was shown. There are also two autometer sport-comps in that picture. They are lit but you can barely see them.

Thran - Plan for the end of January. That's when we expect them.

- Rich

What if I don't want 3 gauges, can you do a package deal for the green ones in the EGT, Boost and the Autometer bezel mount? BTW I'll also be ordering the 3" flat gasket flange adapter for a Borla Hush at the same time. You can post here or PM. Thanx.

What all is included w/ the gauges for install? What type of pod do you recommend for one of your boost guages installed on top of steering column? Therefore that leads me to how about a pkg price for 4 gauges? Thanks

Jasvboost - EGT, Boost, Bezel - $280

cobbler - No control unit needed. These are no frills gauges meaning no adjustable warn or peak functions(the Koso's have those functions), therefore they do not need a control unit. All you need for an install is some extra wire, and maybe a sandwich adapter that would add with installing the Oil Pressure sensor.

suzysube - Up do date.

imprezive one - Just to be clear, you do need a recessed pod like the one shown in the photo to maintain good contrast if installing up by the clock. Relative their price our gauges have good contrast during the day(for a constant lit LED gauge), but they are not adjustable like the Defi's(where you can turn up the contrast for the day. Price does make some difference

stentorian - If your thinking 4 gauges my suggesetion would be an AutoMeter Bezel mount and an ATi ePod. This keeps the gauges in the same general area making a full glance a bit easier. 4 Gauges, $399 (EGT plus any 3). ATi ePod add $119.95, Autometer Bezel, $59.95 = 579.85. As mentioned before you would need some extra wiring, maybe the sandwich adapter for the Oil Pressure sensor, and if you do Water temp you'd need need an apater for slicing a line if you installing yourself. If you go the route of Oil Press and Oil Temp you can use the same sandwich adapter.

turbo15 - easy of install. Otherwise you need to run a line from the galley plug(the sensor it too large for just plug an play into the gally plug) to the sensor and then mount/secure the sensor somewhere. Not a big deal for an installer though, but if you doing things yourself the sandwich can come in handy.

Here is a pic of the sandwich adapter with the Oil Pressure sending Unit installed(the wiring wasn't running too the sender yet though)

will that work with my mocal oil cooler? wll it just add in to it?

or will it be to much of an obstrustion for the oil to pass through both?

and if will work, what goes first the oil cooler or the pressure unit.

Thanx for playing, try again.

The original link is for the 3 gauge bundle. I want just 2 guages; EGT, Boost and the Autometer bezel mount. Plus i'll be ordering at the same time the 3" flat gasket flange adapter for a Borla Hush. If there is no need to pre order then I will wait till January. If I need to call to make this separate deal I will. TIA. Please let me know.

Hi gang,

I'm adding two more part #'s to the website by end of day(Thursday). One will be a two gauge bundle, and one will be a 5 gauge bundle.

The only reason to pre-order is really to just make sure you get gauges when your ready and to get the price that still exists today. At some point there will be a bit of price creep. We're still looking to get some critical mass to make a name for the product so the price is still were the origonal group buy was, but at some point that will go up. We don't charge until we ship so ordering early has no penalty. The website just securely gathers data.

For those waiting on the Amber/Red, our order shipped just about when it was suppose to so we should see them hit our door by mid next week. There are still some gauges available from this order but not many.

Will have some updated Koso info/photo's shortly as well.

Rich
