Default Affordable Alternator which one?

I'm having lots of light dimming and fan slowing issues. I put in a new 557CCA battery in 3 days ago and I have cleaned my IACV. I tried calling both Checker and AutoZone to see how many amps their life time warranty alternators put out but no luck. Do any of you happen to know?

I dont feel like paying 200+ on a part that shouldnt of died already.

I would not have a problem with a non OEM alternator. Personally I think they are all over priced. I have used the autoparts store brands in my Ford Rangers before and had zero problems....

Yeah thats why I plan on using one. But does anyone have an clue how many amps the Autozone or Checker Auto ones put out? I thought I heard Napa ones put out 110 but they are $100 more. I'd like to have a little bit more power since I'm trying to build a Carputer.

Check with the shops that import JDM cars such as Kingpin. They had a JDM STi alternator for sale a while back for about $80 which puts out about 5-10 amps more than the USDM alterantor i think.

Did that and its not listed when they pull up the part (aparently it usally is). They also never have them instock so they cant just look at the box.

I have had terrible luck with "garenteed for life" rebuilts. I have very good service (never had to replace) from remanufactured alternators or starters.
