Requesting a pic comparison: V8 Spec C compared to a USDM EJ205. If it's even possible. If not, no worries.

this was started here. i wished it'd be moved over and possibly stickied.

the STi heads I'm porting are done and thats the Double-D thread. Very interesting finds because I have all these heads on hand or accessible.

The V8 Spec C are not any bigger than the Big Ports them selves. Have the Spec C heads measured via CNC machine and you can port the USDM EJ205 heads just like them.

I'm debating between EJ205 heads ported, or EJ207 V8 Spec C heads. This would be on an EJ207 shortblock. If I can find an EJ207 V8 Spec C longblock, then I'm going to jump on that. AVCS > EJ205.

Depends on if the I&M ODBII machines in the Southern Oregon area can read the JDM ECU, and if they can't if I can do sniffer test instead. If that's a no-no, then I'll be limited to running EJ207 bottom with EJ205 ported heads on top anyway.

Having the EJ207 longblock would be nice, since i'm going to be getting an 2.5RS for a daily while my WRX is down. Once the WRX has a new engine, transmission, driveshafts, hubs, brakes, suspension, etc., everything leftover from the WRX will be going onto the 2.5RS.

ah hA! I've seen that intake port before. Subaru still uses that on the '06 Leggy in Japan eh.. the arch from the inlet to the valve follows the big ports on that style port. Thanks for the pics!

No probs, any suggestions on improving them would be appreciated. I'll be pulling it apart in the coming weeks, trying to measure the combustion chamber, going oversize valves and a stroker blah blah. May as well clean the heads up if I can while I'm there
