Default Has Hankook Paid Your Contingency Yet?

I heard rumors (probably read it here) that Hankook hasn't been paying the advertised contingencies as quickly as would be expected.

Have any of you that earned "Hankook Dollars" been paid yet?

If so any trouble using them?

I wish I could apply for contingiency, but they only want ProSolo and National Tour folks. Regional and Divisional is too small.

Maybe I'll read up on it more later, and see if they have other programs. Hell, even some nice decals would be cool so that I can make magnets out of them and run them on my car.

Hankook will send you a MASSIVE decal/swag package if you just ask. I emailed them and had enough decals to completely cover my car within several days. Are there companies that give contingency for regional stuff?

In 2004, Yokohama offered contingency for divisionals. I don't know if Yok offered contingency money for divisionals in 2005. Andy Basham should know - he came in first at the 2005 CenDiv Championships on Yokohamas.

I think Mini (and BMW maybe?) also offer money for divisionals.

I don't know any nationwide companies who offer money for regionals. Rightfully so, in my opinion. Even if you add a largish minimum class size (say 5 for any award at all), a regional win doesn't necessarily mean anything, depending on the region and on the class.

However, some companies might agree to programs on a region-by-region basis. For instance, IIRC, a local (non-SCCA) club arranged for Kumho to offer a set of tires to their Pro class season champion. Kumho is then listed as a sponsor of the autocross series. But that would be something a region would need to arrange with companies on a one-off basis. In the case I mentioned, the club is local to Kumho's USA headquarters, and the president of the club is a Kumho employee. Both of which probably help to point Kumho's eye to potential advertising opportunities.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for Hankook dollars, IIRC, a bunch of tires were sent out around the time of the Oscoda Pro, for the wins and trophies for the Atlanta Tour and Pro. So call it 2.3 months or so?
