Wink Thanks.. an update..

Hi everyone..

I just want to say thanks again to everyone for their generous support this weekend.. of course.. this could've possibly been the worst weekend of my life (compared to that 1 before..) but u guys helped me pull through it all right, and it turned out to be not so bad afterall 'cuz I'm totally ok and I made a few more friends. But ***** happens, right?

If all goes well, I think I might've found a way to get the car fixed in a lot less time than I first wanted/thought (for sure it's nothing illegal.. ).. the way I'm gonna try and go about it is actually the last choice I want to go with, but I can't really do my daily routines without another car in my family.

Right now, I'm just sourcing out the most obvious parts of the car that needs replacing and go from there after I tow the car to Eric's shop for a full estimate.. Hopefully that'll happen next weekend.

Once again.. I really wanna say thanks.. namely Jamie, Rick, Joe, Eric, Sandy, Jack, Sunny W, Orwin, Jon, Kent, Ken, Darren, Vince, Sunny C, Bruce, Ashton, and Peter. If I missed anybody, I didn't mean to. This isn't just a club.. I've never met a group of friends with a very similiar interest that's so kind and supportive - ever!

Like what my co-worker has been saying since 1984.. "Better day ahead!"

Cheers!
Ken.

Glad to hear you're going to be back on the road soon. You're a good sport for hanging out with us afterwards, not to mention downing the poison that tmr ordered for you.

Likewise, if you need anything, call Keiho first, then call me.

Ken it didn't hurt that you are a super nice guy. If you were an ass you probably wouldn't have received all the help/support/kind words. It pays to be a nice guy, no matter what they say. And once in a while Nice guys don't finnish last. As you said this was a crappy thing to have happened but I am happy to see you are looking on the positive side. You easily could have slipped into negativity. There are a few people on this board (that I know of) that have been going through tough times recently and I think having a group of nice guys/gals with similar interests to talk to is a great help. Ken we're all happy to have been there for you and we all feel for you. Our cars are a part of all of us, but more importantly we have become parts of each other. Nothing beats friends and family. You've got both and that's what is important, your car will return, but you know as we all hopefully do what is truly important in this life.
Take care Ken, give any of us a hollar when in need emotionally or car-ally.

Ken,
I have stock used shock, rear bumper (in blue though) and front brake disc ready to give out if you need them......

Or let us know what kind of parts you need for your car, I am sure many of us have a lot of used parts sitting in our house and don't mind to donate them.

I've always found that something really good comes out of these times. I know it hurts now and it may hurt your pocket for a while, but in the end you will look back on a time of adventure that is priceless.

I bust up a rear brake drum on a beetle before most of you guys were born. I could not afford it but the 2 days that ensued were an advanture all in themselves. I didn't want the experience at the time, nor could I afford it (probably less than $100 today), but it enriched me and encourages me to still push the envelope. That's where the real stuff is.

I would just like to echo that, as a group, we rock
