Default VCMC closed club 16-Sep is postponed

FYI: From the VCMC events message board:

"...The closed club next Sunday on September 16 has been postponed to a later date."

So that means no real excuse to make the Cache Creek rally right? Anyone interested in going? I have no clue as to where to go, etc. there.

If I go, I'll probably just watch because I haven't taken the marshalling course yet, unless I can tag around with another marshall and observe.

Petrie is definitely going up and I may. However a couple things have come up that may need attention soon in Vancouver so not sure if I can go.

I'm going. Have to cos I'm driving the event ... but only the first of the course opening cars (slow one).

Pat Richards championship car is in new hands and got 10th overall at last weekends Wild West Rally. The car is out again this weekend. Should be fast.

Sandy, I've opened a thread for the rally in the Vancouver forum

The autox is postponed because BMW threw a wad of money at the local authority to book Boundary Bay for 3 weekends. Judging by the portable building they have erected, this is not a cheap event for them.

Sunny, you're a bad boy. Those nice people at BMW do not want you showing up their ponsie wimpy drivers in the wet or the dry.

Notice they did not compare any of their cars to a WRX

you know... i personally wouldn't compare those cars to a WRX either. they're just... "different". you can say i wasn't too impressed w/ SOA's marketing when they compared the WRX to the 325xi and A4 1.8t.

that said, i really don't mind going through that wet course and play

Default BMW Events at BB

My understanding (from someone who did the BMW ride/drive thing last Friday) is that the event at Boundary Bay is open to "invited members of the press and special guests". Hmmm, how do you get on this list?

Sure doesn't seem to be open to the REAL enthusiasts like the Subaru event was.

...and back on topic:

What's the new date for VCMC Closed Club event? I'm still hoping to try my hand at Auto-X sometime this fall.

Bill
