STI Doing Axle Spins... Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

Here in the Portland Area, OR, we Dont get Snow very often at all, mabey twice a year if were lucky, but today when i awoke, to my suprize, we were blessed !!! Due to the rarity of this occasion, i took my STI out for a Spin, and now know, what you guys were talking about, when you say, Stock STI TIRES Are Useless in the snow !!!

You need a bigger parking lot and more snow. Or even better, ice.

I did some donuts a little bit ago at one of the snow parks on the way up Crater Lake.

I'm just glad you "learned" that SUMMER tires are not for use in snow the semi-hard way...in a parking lot rather than on the the street.

Er, it depends, actually. I had a set of Kumho summer tires (KH11's) that got rather decent grip in deep snow, slush, and on anything but hard packed snow or ice.

The excellent grooves and channels on summer tires tend to get decent grip in fresh powder and snow... Once you start using up that tread, it kinda changes though...

2004 WRX STI

No Mods

Enkei RPF1 Rims with / Nokia Hakkapeliitta 2 Studded Tires on them...

3200.00 studded, the previously seller even gave me the reciepts. !!!

I got an Amazing deal on my STI, it came with a brand new set of Enkei with studded tires on them, even a spare rim... I put them on my outback and use that for snowboarding, they do amazing in the snow/ice, best tires ive ever had by far !!! Have taken them up 6 times this season, and never had any issue, and only time i loose control is while doing cookies = D...

Just though i might say, Thoes Tires are AMAZING for Snow/Ice if any of you are in the market.

Thats 4 sure, it sure was a blast, we only recorded 2 sets, cause on the 3rd, my copiolit puked after about a 2min spin... Thank the lord he got out 1st.
