Question O.Z. Ultraleggera's- does anyone have a set or plan on getting them?

I realize the gold have been out for a little while, the anthracite come out today, and the silver come out at the end of the month. I was wondering if anyone has picked up a set of the gold yet and how they look in person. I have my sights set on the silver when they come out. When they come out I plan on trying to sell my new Prodrive P7's with Blizzaks first, if anyone's interested.

I ordered them in Gold in 18 x 8 and according to Luke they're arrivng today. Originally they were supposed to be ready to ship on 12/15/05 but they got pushed back to today. Hopefully I'll have them sometime mid next week.

From what Luke said the wheels look even more impressive in person than on the website. I'll post pics of the wheels mounted on the STi, once I get the suspension on next weekend.

Ultraleggeras, not Superleggeras.

Well since Luke introduced them to Nasioc about 2 months ago and they've already been trial fitted by the Tirerack I see no problem. Again they're Ultra's , not Supers. Reading comprehension could work for you!

Most 18" wheels should have no problem clearing Brembos, it's backspacing and bolt pattern that negates most fitments. '04 STi's have a much wider range of wheels to choose from since they're 5 x 100.

I really want a set of the Anhracite ones for my WRX in 17x8. The only real downfall for the Supers for me was they only came in 7.5 wide

If tirerack had any good tires I'd have them already but I hate the idea of buying wheels somewhere, tires somewhere else, then paying to have them mounted and balanced...argggg

The gunmetal ultras look HOTTTT

All overpriced poopoo compared to Hankooks or Azenis. I'd love to try the advans but they cost more than my old set of wheels for those tires.

and in this case you do get what you pay for .....

I woud like to see you try to corner as well on Hankooks as you can on Neovas or PS2's .... ain't gonna happen

and Azenis are R-compound tires not to be compared with street tires .... with that said a shaved MX can turn faster laps than them after about 10 minutes on a track because the Azenis will overheat and get extremely greasy

That's right - you pay twice as much for the tires you mentioned, and get maybe 3% more tire performance (compared to a Hankook RS-2). So apparently what you're paying for is a big marketing budget? (And, in the case of the Michelins, a lot of free tickets to Indy...)

And, no, Azenis are NOT R-compound.

the RT215 is basically a thinly veiled r-compound tire like the RE070 on the STi and the Advan A046 on the Evo

3% .... yeah right ...... Hankook is a third tier tire company trying to break into the performance market with low pricing (and lower performance) ... were there any trophies handed out at the SCCA Solo 2 nationals to people on Hankooks this year ? or ever ?

I'm sure people used to say that about Kumho as well, but now the V700 and V710 are well respected motorsports tires. You really shouldn't bash a company just because you don't sell them. Hankook and Falken both make some great inexpensive tires. I'm sure you'd be praising the Azenis if you carried them.

Luke, you're right - it's not a 3% difference. Based on the Car and Driver test, done at YOUR FACILITY, the difference is..... 0.5%!

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....page_number=13

Hankook: 1st Place STXL & STUL, 2005 Solo Nationals. Does that count?

Thanks for pointing out my error!

Now, where was this thread going???

Hope it looks good. From pics looks like they made the spokes thinner than SL, which is opposite of what I would like.

+1, only reason why I am still waffling between OZ Ultra and Enkei RS+M
