Need some help with wheels

I am looking at getting some new wheels within the next month. Money is a big factor. I had my mind made up on a set of Rota Tarmac II's, but now I have the chance to get a set of wheels for really cheap. They are Falken Torque 5's. The problem is they are 17x7 with a 40 offset. In my mind I don't see how that would fit. I am basically just seeing if someone could confirm my thoughts. By the way these would be going on an 04 WRX wagon. I was wanting to run 225/45/17's on whatever wheels I get.
Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated

The Falkens are cheap for a reason (and the Rotas have their own issues) They will fit - kinda but not that well Way worth it to get wheels that fit well

Get some 5zigens like the FN01R-C's which can be had pretty handily and don't cost an arm and a leg

Yeah I know they wont fit right. It's just hard to pass up a decent looking wheel that will only end up costing $100 ea. My problem is my budget. I will only have $900 to $1100 for wheels, tires, mount/balance, and lug nuts if needed, so options are very limited. My thought is the rotas will make good winter wheels in the future. If I end up with more than I am thinking I will, my first choice was a set of Enkie RPF-1's. We will just have to see. I will find out tomorow.

Did you check out tirerack yet? There are a handful of wheels that would be close to that price range and actually fit. They may not be the best wheels, but at least you would be over the fitment issue.

I checked with Falken for you and they say that the rims (17x7 40 offset) are not suggested for your car

The company, I have heard, has had financial woes which, while the product may be good, means that the chances of the company staying around to help with future problems is uncertain.

They ae a low pres. casting from a place that is not known for hi-tech

Thanks qingshan, I will let the shop know about that as well. Right now Rotas are my best bet money wise, that is what I will most likely go with. Unless I get a larger bonus check that is.
