Default Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser For 02~05 WRX / STI - GB !!

Hey Fellow Nasioc Member:

It's time again for us to start another GB. The previous GB for S203 / V-limited style carbon fiber front lip has been a huge success for us and we have decided to make another product that has a big demand.

For those who want to see how we organize the last GB, you can check out the thread here >>>> LINK <<<< .

We have sold over 150 lips during the GB. Because of the GB, we are able to paid for the molding charge and now stock these lips and sell them as instock item !!! We want to thanks the fellow Nasioc members for that.

Now the new item that we want to put into production is the carbon fiber rear diffuser. We have spent last two months in R&D for this. This is a 4 piece carbon fiber rear diffuser. It consist of 1 x carbon fiber base and 3 x carbon fiber fins.

The fins are about 4" long and are bolt into the carbon fiber base. The CF rear diffuser required the Cusco rear lateral arm braces. It uses the two brackets and the rear lateral arm for mounting.

Here are some pictures of it installed on a US SPEC 04 STI.

Pricing:

1 to 20 Purchase - $399 shipped to lower 48 states
21 to 49 Purchase - $359 shipped to lower 48 states
50+ Purchase - $319 shipped to lower 48 states

ETA: Feb 2006

Requirement: Cusco Lateral Arm Brace + Brackets, SOLD SEPARATELY !!!!

holy molly that price range i rather ditch lil more and get the HKS Kansai (which looks 90% better) or just get the OEM one which probably is 100% more functional

Very nice piece. I am kind of with o2sys on the price though. $400-$500 with out the mounting kit? The HKS Kansai diffuser is @ $700 (or so I have seen on here) and is much bigger and more noticeable. I already have the Cusco kit with stock '06 diffuser so I would just be interested in the diffuser itself. Also, I don't think there would be any difference between the OEM and this in terms of functionality being that they are essentially the same design.

Yeah, the price is a bit high, especialy since you still need to purchase the Cusco brace that runs another $100.00+.

So on the high end this could run $600.00 or more which is HKS territory as mentioned earlier.

Fins look a little tall, got any clearer pictures?

If we can get enough people to join, i might be able to keep it under $500 with the braces.

What if we can make these in fiber glass ? That would be much cheaper... any comment ?

last year, airplane makers and Pentagon has been buying up carbon fiber materials. There is a shortage of carbon fiber in the market right now. I don't think we can make the HKS one at $500, maybe at $700...

I will see if we can cut back on the price for the rear diffuser or even make our own brackets instead of using the cusco brackets.

I have the mounting kit as well with the stock 06 pice and was looking forward to a carbon fiber replacement to go along with a CF front lip but at that price.... I think I will stick to what I have....

Is that with or without the Cusco mounting bar/kit?

Any fiberglass pieces going into production.

CGM_WRX:

sorry for not responding to your post. We are still debating if we will be making them in fiber glass. Reason is to make them in fiber glass and then paint them will be more expensive then making them in CF.

I might be able to special order one in fiber glass for you if this GB generate enough interest for us to invest on the production.

I think one of the big draws of the last GB was that we were able to get a s203 style lip for a price that was WAYYY less than the price of the real deal.
Since the oem diffuser is only $79shipped (from Gruppe-S), I'd expect this diffuser to cost maybe $100-150 max even though its carbon.
I'm sure there will be a few that would still buy this, but I wouldn't expect the huge response that the last group buy drew.

Maybe make a v-limited replica for the 06 guys?

I totally agree. If these guys were $150 shipped, maybe even $160, they would sell like hotcakes, but at $300...... , not too well. Still love you guys though!

Peace-

guys:

we have put a hold on this item since price are too high and not much interest. I have created another post in the exterior section in Nasioc. Feel free to drop by there and give your comment and suggestion.
