At least moving wouldn't be so bad.
A lot of furniture places offer deffered payments nowadays, so you'll be fine as long as you can afford the monthly payments.

Congrats btw.

Congrats!

I'm in the same boat as you, I close on my place on the 10th of January and I own about as much stuff (I have a bed, couch, and my computer/desk). I've been doing alot of shopping on line for stuff, overstock.com is pretty decent for household type things and I've been on e-bay looking for some home theatre stuff.. Furniture has been tough, it really depends on your budget, Since I'm blowing more of my budget on electronics I've been looking at Ikea and Sauder for some furniture (entertainment center, cofee/end tables and a chest of drawers for the bedroom).

One thing to note about ikea.. any furniture you plan on being comfortable shouldn't be bought there. That applies to couches, seats, and most importantly... beds...

My back is still sore from the "top of the line" ikea box spring and mattress Amy and I first bought when we moved out originally.

6 months later, enter Simmon's beauty rest! Ahhhh!

Not the first time I've heard that, I only look at Ikea for things that have a relativly low possiblity of being sat or layed on.

jorge,
what are some good home entertainment websites? i know you recently added a tv to your digs, where'd you do your research? good advice on ikea also. tushies + ikea = no go...all other decorative/accessory items are worth a look.

outside of Wickes and Harlem, anyone know of other decent (reasonably priced) furniture stores or liquidation centers?

I have the leather coutch from Ikea and it's pretty comfy and those wooden framed charis are nice to... I would never buy a bed there, I've got a huge collection of furniture from there. We just bought a room from Ashley furniture and they have no intrest for like 8 years or some crazy thing like that the payments are a joke like $60 a month for just under $2k of stuff.

First thing you need to do is decide the type of technology you want in general terms. Tube, Plasma, LCD, rear projection, projection.

After that, I can start giving you some ideas.

But if you want a reasonably affordable technology that still works great, Look at LCD projection .
