Default question about spec c auto intercooler switch

I want to put this on my 06 sti. is it as simple as putting in the switch and
plugging in the plug that connects from the I/C water spray switch that comes with the factory U.S. model? is the auto part built into the switch or is there an extra
box or module that controls this? any replies would be greatly appriciated.

I'm also curious; though I'd put my money on there being a control module of some kind.

yes, its very simple. i actually kept the stock piece in and removed one of the other switches that were next to it (put the auto spray switch to the left of the stock piece).

did u plug the piece that was in the stock spray unit into the new auto switch leaving the stock switch without a plug in it? also does the sprayer
come on when the car is at wide open throttle? thanks

The normal intercooler spray switch is a press-on-off switch, meaning it only sprays when pressed. The auto spray switch is simply an on-off switch. You need another switch or electronics to control when & how long the spray comes on for. There are a couple of threads about fabricating up something if you search, or you can buy a controller from someplace like MRT.
