Default Needing Tire Recommendation - 225/50/16

I've been looking around for a tire with the following criteria:

225/50/16, Asymmetrical Tread Pattern (or symmetrical), NOT UNIDIRECTIONAL, and capable as a street/autocross tire like the Falken Azenis Sports (Max/Ultra High Performance Summer Tires)..

Since the older Falken Azenis Sports 215s are being phased out and the newer 615s aren't yet avaliable in the size i'm looking for, i'm wondering if there's any other tires out there with the above criteria in case i need to pick up tires soon.

Thanks!

the best inexpensive tire for your use would be the hankook z212.....I had the 215's and the z212's are a MUCH better street tire and grip VERY well.

I have the Hankook Ventus RS-2 in 225-45-16. I love them, the tread wear is good IMO. And once broken in, the great is awesome! Ive done a full track day, and autox on these tires, plus lots of runs at the strip and id say ive used less than half the life of these tires. (im at 11K miles with these on)

Are you running these on stock wheels? I have almost bought these tires from tires.com like 10 times but I can't decide between the 205/55/16 and the 225/50/16s. I want the 225s and I know they "fit" the stock wheels but I am fearful they will feel softer because of the fat tire on the skinny wheel deal.

But, the original poster is looking for non-directional tires, and the Hankook z212's are directional, correct? Psydotek, is there a specific reason the you are considering only non-drectional tires? By doing so, you are ruling out most of the top performing summer tires.

(FWIW, the z212's in 225/50R16 are currently at the top of my list for when I buy summer tires several months from now.)

I want non unidirectional tires simply for tire rotations. Makes it alot easier to rotate tires to all 4 corners without having to dismount them and remount them flipped over.

I know i eliminate alot of summer tire choices with that single criteria, but i've been spoiled by the Falken Azenis 215s. I've been scouring the internet for a while but without any luck. I was thinking of possibly getting a set of new wheels (16x8 rota slipstreams) sometime early next year with my tax refund but i can wait for the Azenis 615s to become avaliable in the 225/50/16 size.
