I think I'm going to fab up a tubular "crash bar" more like a bump bar, just to give some support in a low speed accident.

I'll maybe keep you guys updated.

Any body shop that will modify your reinforcement for you is deff. gonna be a small out of the way shop.

I work for a Toyota dealer Body shop, and there is no way in hell they would let us do this.

So unless you can find a way to retain your stock reinforcement unmodified then you might as well run their aluminum bracket.. at that point it is all the same to the insurance company.
I'm a licensed appraiser and I give time to shops to repair bumper reninforcements all the time. Granted I don't allow them to weld anything but you can fix a reinforcement beam.

Odd.. The only time we can do that is on some of the Domestic vehicles which have welded on beams. I suppose it may very with companies..

But still as an appraiser wouldnt you/they try to get out of paying for a totalled car with a obviously moddied front beam?

Sweet, I was hoping this would fit in there with the black peice at the top of the opening in there. The car has grillcraft grills installed and I'd like to keep them there so the FMIC would be totally stealth.

like that except black and the car is black.

They might not be back on ebay. They got in trouble with ebay for selling items that resemble other products.

Best bet is to go to the first post read the FAQ and get the e-mail address from there.

never got why you would want to buy something from ebay. especially for your subaru. Come on a place wouldnt sell it for a grand, then ebay for like 200-300 dollars. that doesnt seem right for the car i love so much

in the case of car performance parts the brand recognition drives the price. just because APS charges 1200 for their kits does not mean that the parts cost anywhere near that much. if i had to take a swing in the dark i would say they are probably paying no more than $150 for a complete kit before they brand it and resell. the ebay guys just found a way to make money without ripping the customer off horribly while providing similar quality.
