I won't stop you from buying whatever the hell you want.

Because you are the kind of moron who comes back here in the future crying about your broken/blown parts.

Learn your lesson the hard way, ain't my car, ain't my wallet.

The ebay FMIC I received was total garbage with broken fins and scuffed exterior. They didn't reply to my emails and their phone numbers aren't listed ANYWHERE except their fax number.

I googled and found out I wasn't the only one with quality issues w/ their products.

There is no data to prove it doesn't work as well as the more expensive counterparts. There was a guy who replaced his ssac with a txs core and guess what? not a single whp gained.

The only part of these kits that is arguable is the quality of the silicone couplers and T-bolt clamps that are provided.

Speaking of silicone couplers, where can I get better silicone couplers? I was looking at ATP's website and I'm pretty sure they are very high quality and are $$$. I was also looking at siliconeintakes.com. I want something that is going to be much more firm than the ones that come with these fmic's.

Right around the same time they went with the FMIC. Your point ?

In retrospect that was a legitimate question. I am so used to attacks in this thread I responded incorrectly.

ATP is pretty pricey. Siliconintakes is where I'd buy if I needed some. It looks to me the SSAC kits now come with some crappy couplers. I bought mine about 4-5 years ago when they came with really thick decent couplers.

You crack me up. For that matter, so does everyone that dumps insane amounts of money on these cars, and then buys a junk front mount so they can look cool and experience turbo lag.

I gained torque and power on my VF-39 when I went ditched this POS and went back to a top mount.

Yeah, because a VF-39 is like a 30lb/min turbo and has a hard time filling the void that you created by getting the FMIC. It's not that the fmic you chose was a bad fmic, it just wasn't the correct match for your turbo. There is a difference.

This would be like me saying that the stocker is a POS because my 35r melted it. The stocker is not the correct matchup for my turbo.

A 30r or 35r will still have more lag with an FMIC than an TMIC. Argue all you want, but it is a fact.

Defend this crap all you want, but in the end it is still crap, and anyone with a clue knows as much. Save it for the folks that only care about looks.

I never made this argument.

I'm thinking Juanmedina knows what he is talking about, In fact I'm going to tell you he does.

People have used these with success, and coming on here making argueing with people who know their **** is hillarous. When you obviously don't know much because you matched this fmic up with a vf39 expecting it to work.

Have a nice day and read the thread I posted carefully.

What I find amazing is that everyone gets so worked up this POS intercooler

You certainly do know your ****...in fact, that is the topic of this thread!!

The thread you posted is a giant cluster of misinformation, hearsay, and pure BS. The best posts are the ones where the knowledgable people admit that the thread is based on BS. I also noticed that you did not actually post there...unless you were using an alias? I dunno, I do not keep up with NASIOC politics and drama.

I was like most in this thread when I used this IC. I was misguided, and a shiny FMIC with a $300 price tag suckered me in. When sense returned I put the TMIC back on. Now I am running a bigger turbo, and this FMIC just cannot keep up with the flow. It is no good for a smaller turbo, and not sufficient for a larger one.

But back to My point: This intercooler sucks, so save your money, and get an intercooler with a real core. OR ignore the suggestions from those of us who have been there, waste your money, and spend your time polishing a turd until you get with the program and buy a real intercooler. Either way is fine with me

If I am using an aftermarket BOV I do not need any extra pieces with this kit...correct?

Is the dnamotoring the same as the ssac? I see the dnamotoring says the IC pipes are aluminum, but I've read that the ssac are steel in previous posts. Also, does the dna motoring one come with an intake of any sort?

The fitment was poor, they had to return my money for the crappy part.
You get what you pay for, pick up a Turbo XS one on ebay for the extra $200.

My only concern with this is the lack of a real bumper beam. If I were to use this front mount setup I would at the very least cut the bumper beam to fit and then box weld it for strength. This way in a front end collision I would have more than some finned aluminum and piping for protection.
