I used high temp BBQ paint from Home Depot. Just spray several thin layers rather than slopping it all on at once.

I'll take some better pics of it with bumper on, the only one I have is pretty crappy. It's very stealthy though.

On the painting topic if you want to paint your intercooler black you have to use a radiator type paint that is made to transfer heat, regular paint will trap the heat in and defeat the porpuse of your new intercooler. Just my o2.
IMO it really doesn't matter. The vast majority of the heat transfer is through the fins, and since the thing is near 4" thick I doubt a thin coat of paint on the front (not on the actual fin surface) will make any measurable difference whatsoever.

Rep, they don't list the good price there. Just watch ebay for when they get more in stock, try to snag one for ~$400 + 50 ship. The kit everyone is discussing is the same one they list on the webpage for $700-something. Even though it is a quality kit, I wouldn't pay that much since they don't offer a warranty and their support is virtually nonexistant.

narenji, not sure why the endtank would push the bumper. Did you trim it enough? This kit is nearly identical and I could trim another 1.5-2 inches of bumper easily for more clearance.

Your comment is juvenile.

First off, i am glad you think the hoses are great. I myself would rather have more insurance , in the way of more silicone coupling surrounding pressurized pipping. As well a good bit of boost and lots of flow from a green. In addition the pipes do move around as the engines torques and flexes.

you also have an 02 body style, mine is an 04, there are slight differences. I have also had the turbxs fmic on my old 03, the couplers they give you with that are at least another inch or so wider. When youve broken down on the side of the hwy at night, you may change your mind.

I can appreciate your comments, but I honestly cannot see how these hoses when properly installed and the t-clamps tightened sufficiently could come off, other than the 90 deg elbow at the turbo. It's not like we're running 30-40 psi, and people do that without monster connecting hoses.

But if you feel better driving it with longer hoses, nothing wrong with that. I sometimes pay extra for some additional insurance myself.

They do seem to be pretty terrible about answering emails... I talked to a guy who had been emailing them for something like a _month_ before getting a response.

Take the payment back. File a complaint with paypal or your credit card carrier.

I'm sure they are just out of stock right now. There customer service sucks but there intercooler rocks so I guess that kinda reflects the price and what you pay for. Dedee should get things fixed for you. There not the type to rip people off, it just takes them a long time to anwser emails. Hope everything works out for ya man.

The SSA cores used to have "XS Power" painted on them, FWIW. I got the mid/late-December batch, which seems to be unpainted, but are identical otherwise.

wrxrabbit: Well, if you bought it through ebay, yes. http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/
Click "Item not received" then put your item number in, etc. Pretty easy, really. I've had to do it two or three times. It's funny to see the seller suddenly decide they need to fix the problem when you file a fraud complaint against them. Sorry to hear you're having troubles, but I do think they'll make good one way or another. If they can't supply you your part within a few weeks 'cause they are out of stock, they should offer to refund your money. Better the money sit in your account making you interest than theirs.

Sorry if this has been asked yet, but can these IC's be used with the stock bumper beams without modificatio of the beam? (like the injen FMIC'S). Is injen the only company that allows you to use your stock bumper beam with the IC?

Bumper beam comes off. They include a bracket that bolts in where the bumper beam is. This should be pretty apparent. I would highly suggest you look at all the pictures posted.

WRX: If it really has been a month since you paid, and you really did email them through the ebay system and asked "what the f**, mate" and they really did not reply, I would file a complaint immediately before it is too late. It will take some time for it to get from NC to CA, but not a month. It doesn't hurt to file a complaint! 30 days is more than enought time to ship a part and for it to make it across the US.
