Last night my check engine light came on during a drive home. I turned off the car, started it up, and it didn't come back on. Today, the same exact thing happened. I've only had my car for a few weeks and haven't had time to install any of the new parts yet. I did, however, throw a K&N panel filter in two nights ago. I can't see how that could trigger anything, but thought I would mention it. Any thoughts?

...too much oil on the filter coats the MAF and makes it throw a code.....also, if ya didn't get the airbox top back on right---it is a PITA sometimes to get back on.....THAT can cause a CEL....or your gas cap could be loose......or....
...without the exact code, as in "Pxxxx" we are pissing in the wind. ...and the stock paper filter is better than that K&N junk |

Why do you say that the stock filter is better than the K&N? very curious here. Thanks for the thought on the airbox. I'll check it out in the morning.

Ya loose power with the k&n over the stock filter.
Proof....dyno proven proof. It has been posted here...back to back dyno runs.....and don't forget, they don't filter as well, either. |

I checked it out again today. The filter didn't seem to be seated properly, so I took off the MAF hose to get a better seat. We'll see what happens.
UncleScotty-do you happen to have a link to these charts? I'm not trying to be confrontational, again, I'm just curious. Thanks for the input guys |
