Default New guy w/turbo to install.

Hi everyone,

I live in the Victoria area and just purchased (used) a turbo kit for my 2000 imprezza. I am told that it recommended to do a parallel fuel rail conversion before putting the turbo in. I understand that there may be some info on this mod somewhere but I can't find it... also, where can I purchase the stuff for this conversion?

I spent days to research and went through lots of other forums before I can understand fully. I'll just chip in a bit here, I bet the gurus in VIC can help you out more than I do.

Basically, u'll need less than $10 of materials, which is 5/16 or 3/8 fuel rubber lines. I purchased mine from Lordco for like $4. Then remove your intake manifold, you'll see the fuel lines there. Since our subaru fuel travel from cyclinder 4-2-3-1, then to the FPR and back to the tank. So, now, if u want parrallel fuel rails, u'll needa make it from the fuel pump, filter, then split it into 2 rows, one goes to the left side 4-2, one goes to the right side 3-1, then goes back together and back to the FPR and to the tank. There's good info in scoobymods.com and try to search around a bit. It's a fairly easy mod once you have your intake manifold removed. Since I don't know much about the GC cars, all my research were based upon the 02+ wrx.

I hope this may help a bit but prepare for the more indepth info from Tora and Battlewagon ! They can actually help you out more than I do!

May I ask what turbo kit you purchased for your vehicle?
AVO Japan/Australia sponsored my 2003 RS-T and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have if it is in fact a turbo kit from AVO.

As per the parallel fuel rail conversion, bwco did a pretty good writeup and I believe scoobymods.com has a similar one.
