Lightbulb LSD swap?

Has anybody done a LSD swap from a MY00 Impreza yet? If so any details? I'm curious as to difficulty, parts needed, etc.

Also I'm wondering the exact benefits of such a swap..all i know is that it's a good idea mmm'kay!?!

Thumbs up

I know that if you get the same final drive ratio as you have now you can simple unbolt the entire rear diff and swap in the MY2000 unit. You will however HAVE to use the MY2000 axle shafts as the splines on the diff end are differant.

Benefits? The wheel with the most available traction will get the most power delivered to it, ie: lets say you happen to be pushing it around a corner in the gravel, as the rear of the car leans into the corner it will unload the inside tire and allow it to spin, with the LSD the power will be transfered to the outside tire (the one with the most available traction) which equals MORE CONTROL.
