Default RevScene.net Christmas Toy and Food Drive Meet - Sunday, December 18, 2005

I noticed this last minute on revscene, so decided to repost it here.
For those that remember -- I think we actually had a relatively good subie turnout last year. There were lots of subie toys donated!
( I remember Tricky's transformer the most, it must have made some little boy/girl very happy)

Anyways, no need to sign up, but feel free to discuss in this thread if you want to come. I'll try to keep the thread current -- but I'm hoping hypa, fukamoto, and C0met can help to update this thread too since they're probably much more of revscene.net regulars than me.

So, just bring yourself, some toys for the Xmas bureau and non-perishables for the food bank!

cheers!

It's that time of year again where we give back to the community. In the past, RevScene.net's Admin and Mod team have organized successful Toy and Food Drive Meets for members.

This event is a little last minute, however, it's never too late. I would encourage each and every one of you to come to the event and bring at least one toy and non-perishable food item. All proceeds will be donated to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and Vancouver Food Bank.

Come out to meet and greet the people who post here but in real life! Lots of friendly people. Get to know one another and make new friends.

Meet will proceeed as follows:

Pre-Meet

Sunday, December 18, 2005 @ Langara College Parking Lot (49th Ave) - 11:00am sharp!

Destination

We will leave the Langara College Parking lot at approxiamately 12:00pm and hope to arrive at the Christmas Bureau at around 12:45pm - 1:00pm. Please drive responsibly. No horseplay will be tolerated.

Can't Attend?

For those of you who cannot attend but would still like to make a donation, I will gladly meet with RS members on Saturday, December 17, 2005 - 10:00pm at the Oakridge Mall Parking lot just outside The Bay. I will leave the location at 11pm however, if you will be late, please contact me to make arrangements via PM.

Again, I would encourage you all to attend the event and bring at least one toy and non-perishable food item.

I know I love 'em but they don't hold quite the same value as a few toy cars or legos or something of the like.

And here's a another recent quote from the thread on revscene.net:

p.s..... If I attend which I realy hope I can. I will accept donation for the local SPCAs..... The poor animals always get left out.... A good dry/canned dog or cat food is always welcome as well as old blankets and towels....

Thanks

Happy belated new year and merry belated christmas everyone.

Sorry for the late update -- but the xmas meet was a bust since the xmas bureau was understaffed -- thus closed for the day

Kudos to the revscene organizers for having the courtesy to wait at langara for anyone who showed up though. Nonetheless, me and my fiancee showed up and passed our food bank and toy donations to the revscene organizers who were there

hopefully, there will be a better event next year. Penphoe, thanks for stickying the thread, -- feel free to unstickify it when you get a chance.
