Default Planning a BIG meet.

I really wasn't sure where to post this so I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place.

I want to set up a state-wide meet @ a local dealership possibly. I know there are some of you who have pulled these things off successfully and I'd like some ideas/direction. I have already contacted the local dealership and sold them on the idea and the benefit of their "potential customers" seeing how crazy some folks are about their subies.

I have their "in" but will have to put some meat on this bone, so to speak.

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction please? I'd really like to start a correspondence with someone who has done this very thing before.

Thanks!

SE regional forums...

the charleston area is real heavy w/ subies. I'm sure if you ran it by a few dealerships in the area they would lead you in the right direction. Somewhere near the coast would be a great place for this while it's hot out.

Last year my car club put together a show.
Here's a few things I picked up from doing it...

-If you do it on public property your going to need a permit.
-If you do it on private property you might have to pay that company
and pay for insurance for the day if they dont supply it.
-Might also have to pay for security or police.

We has our show in the parking lot of Lincoln Tech.
Had to pay them $2,500.
Had to take out insurance for the event $1,000.
Had to pay for Police $400 (or so)

But we also had vendors/food/and sponsor spots who paid to have their name on the flyers, reserved areas and such.

We also had a dyno there had to pay him.

Alot of little things add up...but im coming more from a show stand point.
MaxxD Out Autoclub Show

If you need any insight on stuff let me know....since i'm going thru it all again planning this years show.

Carlos.

I just put together a meet for ~120 Subarus in Virginia Beach. Email me if you have questions over the next several days as I'll be without internet, but email works. Also, read my Subaru Meet FAQ if you haven't. Best of luck and be prepared to work like crazy for little thanks.
