Default WTB: Trailer

Beginning the quest for a trailer for the RS. Not looking for anything too special. All of the closed/aluminum ones are outside of my price range. Looks like it'll be an open/steel 16-18' one at least for the next few years. Anyone know someone who builds them as a side job? Trying to keep the purchase to under $2k.

Thanks,
Fitz

NHsilverSti builds them as a side job....not sure if he's ever done a car trailer, you'd have to ask him. i know he's built a few trailers for other NESIC'ers.

It looks like it needs some work, but for $500.00 it may be worth checking out.

Mark,

Take a ride to Taunton, MA to Welsh Trailer....or just call them. I bought my steel/wood bed 16 footer from them when I did the Neon racecar. He builds them right there for a living and also sells PJ (what I got) and Big Tex (he pointed out why they were trash compared to a PJ) because so many people go around pricing them. The ones he builds himself tend to run less money than the re-selling-new that he's doing.

Mine was well below $2k and he still advertises in the want ads for below that for a 16'. Since he builds them, he could do it as you want it. The one I had was double axle with 4 wheel electric brakes and 7700 pound capacity with about 1.5 foot beaver tail and sideways ramp storage. Back then (2002?) I paid $1700. Sold it last fall for $1600 and bought the aluminum

Had I known that I was going to get the Yukon, I'd have kept it.
