Post Pics of my '88 XT6

Hi, I hope I can get this right the pics of my 88 XT6 are up, it is full time (auto)4wd & I have taken out the air suspension. Here is the link. Http://community.webshots.com/user/naz53
Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for host page info. One last question, how do I put the actual photo into the topic like I see on the board. Thanks again, let me know what you think. Looking for a wrecked impreza project also.

Lookin' good! Nice to see some people with the older subies (other than the SVX and legacy turbos) getting in on the action

Thumbs up

That's a nice looking ride. Do you have any plans for it? Man, I wish I could find an XT6 that look like that (When I have more $$$ available).

Thanks for the good replies, I have this one as my baby, I've owned it for about 8 years now & I have been parking it in the winter since I've owned it (living in PA with salt I don't want it to rust out). I have other Subaru's to drive in the winter. I want to try to begin to do some things next year. Now that I have removed the air suspension I can begin to do some work getting it more sport tuned & then begin on the engine. It's tough to get parts for so I'm converting what I can. Also looking for a wrecked Impreza to begin on. I also have 2 '90 Legacy Lsi's & another XT6 that an '89. I bought it wrecked & use it for my winter ride.

Cool

Very cool.

My best friend in Utah has a standard 2WD XT GL that he drives cross country from Utah to Maryland. Its an '86 with about 300k on the clock. Great car.

Nick dickitt, thanks for putting the pics in the thread for me. How do you do that?
Thanks again to everyone for the replies it's nice to see people still like the old Soob's. In the background of the front shot you can see one of Legacy's & my other XT6. The other XT6 I bought wrecked, still not perfectly straight yet body wise, just bought it for a winter ride. I am also using it as my test bed before putting something that doesn't work onto the good one.

Naz53,

Can you email me, PM or post here what you may have planned for your XT? Is there any Subaru XT specific clubs out there? Just curious! Interest of this car is growing on me by the day.

I am eyeing a black one in my area. Perfect interior, exterior looks great and it looks like it's been taken care of. *Hands shaking* I want this car for my next project. Muhahaha! Just trying to get some more insight from previous and current owners. Thanks!

Did anyone else know that Kaminari made an aero kit for the XT6? I saw it in a catalog. Pretty cool.

Please excuse my spelling and grammar sometimes. I go back and reread a post I did earlier in the day and it sounds like an idiot was talking. I hate that.

Hey I got a quick question, I have looked at a 88XT front wheel drive with some rust on the rear quarter panels, the lady that owns it wanted $995 for it. Everything else looks pretty good, it runs and it may need a new battery. Everything else seems to work. She called and left a message on my machine and said she dropped the price to $500 what do you guys think. I want a car to learn how to work on and I want something else to keep the miles down on my RS. What do you guys think, I am not real happy about the rust but it seems pretty sound other wise.

Its a decent buy if you realise that it will take alot of work to make fast, and the rust may kill it off. $500 though is cheap enough that you could convert it to a parts car in the future, if you find a better one.

Kevin, I going to probably get started more on modifing it this winter, I've left it pretty much stock since I've owned until last winter when I bought the rims & took out the air suspension. I can let you know how to change out an air suspension system if you get one. I am looking into the kaminari kit, just don't really like the front piece of it though I like the look of my stock front end. Next I want to look into possibly putting on a turbo. I know my car is different but am I correct in that your car is an auto. I would like to beef up my auto tranny if I add the turbo just not sure where to have it done. I also have another XT6 which is a stick, but it isn't in near the shape this one is in. I'd go for it if you can there are less & less of these around & it would be nice to know the ones that are left are going to people who will appreciate them & preserve them. I'll keep in touch with my mods, let me know if you get one, I have some service manuals also that I can help with tech. questions.
