Blow-through MAF set-up

The car runs so smooth (STi 380whp DB 20g, FMIC on pump Ecutek tuning done by Doug at Topspeed). Thought you might like to see its placement etc.

The maf is after the turbo/bov on the charge pipe. Instead of being at the intake charge location and venting metered air, the air that is now blown off with the throttle closed isn't metered.

cool thats where it should be

just wondering how much bounce(squiggle) you get in maf voltages as the bov opens -probblay depends on how taught the spring in the bov is

Good question. The HKS isn't the easiest opening bov by any means, but w/o question it holds boost better than anything I've used. I'm not sure how much the voltages fluctuate (I could ask Doug/tuner) but its amazing how smooth the car rides.

I'd be curious to know how well the MAF holds up in the long run with the more turbulent & hotter intake charge.

Good question. Its now on the colder side of the intercooler piping (large FMIC) though after previously placed directly after the foam filter on the short ram intake. Short rams can get waarm, so if this intercooler is doing its job I'd think it would be ok.
