Default Seat Covers

Just got an '06 Impreza for the wife - love it!! What are the best "bang for the buck" seat covers (available in western Canada) that fit well? (It's a 2.5i wagon).

Does the 06 impreza's not come with side airbags standard now? Don't you have to worry about that when you put on seat covers?

Congrats on your acquisition! I checked both Lordco and Canadian Tire and it seemed like CT had the biggest selection, but YES, you have to be careful because most of the ones they have for the front seats are NOT compatible with side air bags. Costco had genuine sheepskin ones that ARE compatible and the grey colour actually looked kinda nice.

I didn't get any for my fronts (I don't think sheep skin goes with the STI but I think it would look alright with the wagon). Because I have kids, I got one of the bench covers for the back. CT was the only place I could find them. You have to remove the seats (maybe just the bottom in your case) for the best fit.

If you're willing to shop online, you'll have more options.

Thanks for that.

jonney boy: Seat covers are only a concern with air bags which deploy from the seat itself. I'll have to check to see if these ones deploy from the seat or the pillar above the window. Thanks.

On most new vehicles (including Subarus) side air bags deploy from the seat. That way it doesn't matter where the seat is positioned. Air bags that deploy from the a-pillar are known as side curtain air bags and are designed to protect the head. The A-pillar will be marked if there are curtain airbags. The Impreza doesn't have them.

Thanks for that. I've heard that the subaru interiors are quite durable so we'll go without the seat covers.
