From what I've gathered, the 2.0 WRX and STi exhaust manifolds are not interchangeable. But, will exhaust manifolds from an STi fit my 06 WRX? I would like to have a set of manifolds to tap for an EGT gauge and maybe port/coat but I don't want any downtime and I found a set of STi manifolds...go or no go?
Thanks!

The WRX and STi manifolds look to be exactly the same.
I've never measured the ports with a micrometer, however, they look identical. I would check the part numbers to be sure. Mike |

I think they're different. At least they are in the 06 service manual (there are separate instructions on removing/installing the manifolds, the torque specs are different for the bolts, and from the drawn pictures they look quite different)

Well, I hate to bring this up again, but I still haven't gotten a solid answer. I read a few that go either way. I'm going to call a dealer as soon as I get a chance, but until then, does anybody have any first hand experience? I'd like to pick a set up for porting before I get Protuned...

I don't see why they wouldn't. BTW, my 2.0L WRX heads bolt onto my EJ257, at least they have to if my car is going to run.

....the whole exhaust---both manifolds and the cross pipe.... MAY be interchangeable as a unit....BUT-----I tried to swap the drivers side manifold off my '02(to keep my EGT) with my '06 and it wasn't even CLOSE

Thanks for the input, but damn, that sucks. I thought I remembered reading one of your posts about this, but I couldn't find it. I guess I'd probably have to swap the up-pipe as well?
If this is the case, I guess I'll just port mine and drive the rocco in the meantime ![]() |

I'll look into the Injen x-pipe though, I have only heard of it in passing up until now. |
