Yup, driver too

Mine's set to 7500 but that's probably a bit much

Here's what i did to set mine which may help you out. Start out low...say 3500 or so. Likely it will bog. Now go in and set it 500rpm higher, see how that feels. Continue moving up like this until you get to an RPM where you feel comfortable with the car. Make sure to use INJ. cut unless you are using nitrous. Hope this helps

it's also how you can get a huge afterfire, float a valve, spit a shim, and generally destroy your valvetrain...

Noobness coming through!! ---> I always thought cutting the spark was the better way to do it because then the motor doesn't run lean?

Also, do you need to have the map switch to utilize the launch control and flat foot shift features of the UTEC?

Think about what happens to all that unburnt fuel.. Valvetrain damage is not uncommon with IGN cut.

i promise you that you will not det or preignite an infinite air fuel ratio.

not necessarily. all you need are a couple of wires from the molex connector on the utec to a switch. most folks use the cruise control switch on the clutch pedal. the remote map switch just brings those wires closer to the driver's side of the car.

i made my own remote switch and LC hookup, fwiw.

Bingo - tie into the cruise switch as mentioned above.

Yes this is true, and I have pictures to prove it!

I think they got rid of shims in the new motors though, but I still have them with my 2.0L built motor and rebuilt stock heads. So I'm not going to use LC! EVER!
